Default 8 Months And Someone Files A Chargeback

I cannot believe this. I sold something for $156 last Oct to a verified buyer. She is now filing a chargeback. WTF?

of course, now paypal put a hold on my account. I realize this is not alot of money, but the fact that people do this is just beyond me.

Yes, I thought the limit with Paypal was 60 days and the limit for credit cards (depending on the card) was 3-6 months?
Any reason given?

I could be wrong about that but I thought I had read a post somewhere (it may have been on eBay forums) about amex allowing up to a year to do a chargeback on something.

I will tell you that this happened to me once and paypal was taking forever to file the claim in my favor when I had signature confirmation and tracking on a bag less than 250. So I was so upset one day that I just decided to email the buyer saying how could you file a chargeback when you purchased the item. The buyer responded to my email saying that she didn't do that. In fact, she stopped using eBay about 2 months ago and closed her ebay account and left her paypal account open. She went into to her paypal account and closed the dispute which had been escalated to a chargeback. What I have heard is that people who close their ebay account but leave their paypal account active have had the problem of people tapping into their account and trying the money back because it goes back into the paypal account. Try contacting the buyer by email. I have had this happen 2 times and both were resolved by contacting the buyer. Good Luck!!

This is the most horrible thing I've ever heard. PayPal charges so much fee, and they dare to come back to buyers when they cannot collect money from sellers? I thougt they should go after the seller and put them to the collection agency. Maybe they put both parties to the collection agency.
