Hi all. I was wondering if I could get some very helpful advice on a Dior bag.

This would be my first Dior bag. I love the New Lock but it feel it is too small for my needs. I also love the Lady Dior bags but they are not big enough either I don't think. Plus, I am a shoulder wearer person.

I am interested in the Dior Soft Tote. Any thoughts on this bag? I am also wondering which color. I am interested in the Black or the Beige Lambskin (I am not a patent person, while beautiful, it is not me).

I have several bags in the brown/beige color family and only 1 bag in black. However, which color does this bag look better in?

I wanted to get one before there is another price increase (whenever that may be).

Thanks loads!

Hmm...I wonder if you have fewer black bags because you match beuge/brown bags better. If this is true, then I suggest the beige one. If not, then I suggest the black one so that you have more black bags in the collection.

The black looks a bit more stunning because of the contrast between the black and silver hardware.

Have you considered the Dior Granville bag? It seems to meet your size requirements, and also can be worn as a shoulder/cross-body bag or hand-carried like the Lady Dior.

I agree with AJ, I'm GOING to get a Granville one day...It's gorgeous, functional and just awesome all around....but I was looking at the Dior Soft tote in patent leather purple for awhile before I bought my (purple) pouchette...That color may be too much, since you say you like neutrals, but it really does go with a lot and it pops! Good luck and make sure to reveal your decision!!

I am not sure why I have only 1 black bag. I was thinking that the black would be more stunning to be honest and black in a tote is such a nice look with the silver.

Is the Granville more of a hobo type bag? I am really a tote person anymore for some reason.

Thanks for your reply too...it is so nice to have some opinions other than the SA's... If that makes sense :)

I've posted a few celebrity and model pics with the Granville to show you how many different ways you can wear it. It is a VERY versatile bag. I prefer it much more than the Dior Soft.

Which would be the best color for the Granville do you think?

The medium would be the best size, correct?

I think the medium size is normally what is bought more often with Dior bags, especially the Lady Dior and the Granville, it's a good size without being too big. Mischa Barton and Blake Lively carry the medium size where Demi Moore has the large. If you want a nice colour and don't mind lighter colours, I would suggest the mink grey. It's a Dior colour and sets itself apart from the blacks, beiges and browns

I recommend the medium-sized Mink Grey Granville as well. It's a very pretty colour.

Now, the SA told me that the Granville was more like a hobo and my thinks would fall in the center of the bag. I am not a big hobo person...

Is this true?

It may be true if you only wear the bag as a shoulder/messenger bag with the detachable strap. If you hand-carry it, then the items should not fall to the center (much like the Dior Soft). Also, much like the Dior Soft, the Granville comes with 3 large compartments (one with a zipper) so you can organize the contents of your bag.

I might need to have a look at this bag in the Mink Grey or the Beige.

I think you'll like the Dior Soft. It's comfy on the shoulders. The chains on the straps give it an elegant touch. The open compartments are bigger than those in the Granville so access to the contents is easier. There's a magnetic snap closure to keep things secure too. I saw the latest colors at the store- violet, pink but didn't see the black or beige. Maybe they weren't on display.

But yeah, get both the Granville and Dior Soft!

Thanks loads! The SA sent me size comparisons and whatnot. Actually, the violet was one of the colors and it looked very pretty. I am a very neutral person though with my bags. I do have a Teal Nightengale Givenchy bag that I like which was "out of the box" for me :) hehehe...
