Hi! New to this thread and I tried to do a search. I saw a Lady Dior red bag online and fell in love. I think it might literally be the more perfect red bag.

But forgive me.. I know nothing about Dior. I know Coach, MK and LV.

So.. If anyone can help with a few questions, I really appreciate it.

1- what is the price range of the Lady Dior handbags?

2 - do they only sell in boutiques now and not department stores?

3 - do they ever go on sale or are they like LV in that department?

4 - where are they manufactured? ( just curious)

5 - can anyone tell me about how they like their Lady Dior bags? ( craftsmanship, leather? , patent leather? , soft? Hard? Hold up well... Etc... )

Etc... ) patent leather: holds shape well, resists scratches but depending on the color is prone to stains and color transfer that are irreversible if you are not careful. lambskin has a luxurious feel and holds up better than other designer's lambskin (i.e. Chanel). if there are scuffs or color loss, dior has a refurbishment service that will take care of this. lambskin, after many, many, many years of use it will begin to soften and will not have such a hard structure but this can be said for any bag over time. red is very striking! the pictures above are of a medium size. you can tell because it has 5 cannage quilts across. the large size has 7 and the small has 3. the medium is the most popular but takes some accessing the compartment because it is tight. all three come with detachable shoulder straps although sometimes it varies by material composition.

a tidbit: patent leather is styled with "plain" side panels where as the lambskin has the cannage quilted embroidery.

also, certain colors are available seasonally. i am not sure if red will be easy to find but i know of a dark red that is available from a recent seasonal release but not a vibrant lipstick red.

there is also an option of silver, gold, or light gold hardware depending on the colors. dior is currently using light gold hardware over gold (but gold can be found on older bags they may be found at certain stores' inventory).

Ohhh thanks for the info. I am learning now. I love your purses.. I was wondering if it would be a tight fit as well. I guess I have to see it in person to really decide. I really want to see that red. So far it is the prettiest red color I have seen, with the exception of the LV Alma.

The SA told me when I purchased my Lady Dior that Dior never allows those bags to go on sale. Mine is a medium size black with beautiful red interior. It is a little bit tight to get into, but it's such a classy bag and I love it so much that I don't let that bother me.

I have a lot of Dior bags and they have all worn well. In the event something does happen to one, they send them to a company that does great repairs at a very reasonable cost.

the most popular size is the medium and this is very versatile for casual/dressy occasions. large can sometimes seem a bit like a briefcase since the proportions are large and structured. the large would be closer in size to the alma.

By the way, the shopping tote is the only size that can accommodate A4 papers/files.

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum. I'm usually in the Chanel forum but lately I've become interested in Dior handbags, particularly in the lady dior. I would like to purchase a lady dior in lambskin but need some info on colors. Does it come in taupe and if taupe is a permanent color that is easy to get or is it a seasonal color?

In my opinion the large size isnt really that large.. I like the size because i can fit in my wallet, make up bag, tissues and my shades case and that's it.. Though the shape of the bag makes it hard to reach for the stuff easily! :)

There was a colour from Cruise 2010 called pigeon that would have resembled a taupe; however, this was a seasonal colour and is no longer available in boutiques.

Eminere ~ I have some questions...I called around today and there was an SA who was able to locate a Lady Dior in Pigeon for me. I want to order the bag but I'm concerned that it might be a returned or displayed bag. She assured me that it is from a stock room and in perfect condition. But I have been assured that before with Chanel and have gotten used bags a couple of times. How can a bag from Cruise 2010 still be available? She mentioned that it was a popular color so I'm wondering how it can still be available. What is Dior's return policy? Do they take bags back that have been used? Do they sell displayed bags? If the bag the SA found is indeed pigeon (as in the colour code corresponds to pigeon, and it is not merely another similar colour), then the bag would be old stock as it would've indeed been from Cruise 2010. It could, for all intents and purposes, be brand new if it came from a boutique with slow-moving stock and the bag simply sat there all this time without being sold. It could also be a display or last piece; as long as these are still in perfect condition there is no reason why they can't be sold. Dior's return policy varies between countries.
