It's been a while since I've posted.

I found a fake Gaucho on Ebay which is by far the most accurate fake I've seen, and it's really scary. There are only a few details off. Let's report this bag together.

Christian Dior Black Gaucho Saddle/Shoulder Bag - eBay (item 380141381426 end time Jul-27-09 21:06:48 PDT)

The details that are off are:

- the interior lining color
- the leather color with flash photography (should be pure solid black rather than bluish black)
- the top-stitching color around the bag, lambskin links, and shoulder straps (should be brown instead of the same color as the bag)
- the pegs on the shoulder strap are too large
- the leather looks a bit plasticky in some pictures (especially the pictures of the strap)
- lambskin links look blotchy with solid black smears as opposed to simply looking dirty

The surprisingly and horrifyingly accurate details are (so far I have not seen other fakes with this)...
- the interior leather tag with the Christian Dior logo
- the logos on the logo lining
- Dior's face on the coin
- the Dior logo on the belt-like buckles
- shape of the double saddle
- the color the lambskin on the lambskin links (minus the strange-looking black smears. Other fakes usually get the lambskin color all wrong)

Oh! And if you read the answers that were posted on the bottom to buyer's questions, the seller indicates that she knows the difference between an authentic and fake DIor bag. Well, of course she does. She knows this one is fake.

Its a really good copy, i would never have been able to tell the difference, however please do not post such details of what is off publicly because the scammers apparently scour TPF looking for tips. The info is veryhelpful though so thanks for that

well if you loook at she didnt post any picture of the cd on the small bucle, there is no authenticity card or dust bag with it and there is no picture of the back coin ; i saw that fake last time its those "mirror " replica. i reall hate those .

SHAME ON PAYPAL !!!!! but im not surprised once again, its on by ebay , all their care about is keeping all the fees they charge you during the selling process . i hope your friend win the claim . i know their time frame is very short .well she should report that seller to the internet fraud and report it to ebay also to ask for the seller to be removed .

just for the past month i reported the exact same fake white gaucho 4 times and teh seller keep re selling it , did ebay block her ? not .....
so i tried to contact them they said " as long as the seller think its a real we have no way to confirm its a fake what kind of rule is that ? why did they add the report button than ?

maybe if someone else can report it too they might finally remove it and stop that seller

honestly i gave up with internet buy because of those stupid seller that sell fake ; i rather pay more and buy in store than pay less and end up with a fake . tell your friend to boycott ebay from now on and buy directly from official stores its a lot safer .

averagejoe, I dont think I can agree. All the accurate details are the major ones, such as the coin and the tag and the logo on the lining - I will dare say that there is no way this was faked so accurately. The details that are off could be explained much more easily. Both the look of the leather and the weird smears might come from some failed treatment of the leather, this would also explain the colour of the stitching. As for the interior lining colour it looks exactly the same colour as mine.

I think the bag is real but was the leather was treated with something bad.
