Hi, I'm a Dior newbie and I helped my sis purchase her HG bag - Lady Dior in Patent Pearl Grey over the phone. She saw it for the first time 4 months ago and it was a light pearly grey, and I must say it was gorgeous. But when the SA texted me a photo of it, it looked much darker than what we saw in spring.

Is this a different pearl grey? Is there more than one type of pearl grey? It was at least 3 shades darker.

Also, the SA said she couldn't apply the 10% Saks discount for Dior. Has anyone successfully used this discount on a Dior bag? Thanks in advance!

I am actually a newbie myself. I have heard this grey called Mink Grey and in the patent it is pearlized and from what I heard, amazingly beautiful!!!

I am wondering if the picture came up bit darker then it really is. Sometimes photos can be very different than the actual color...

It's probably the lighting. From what I know, the patent grey only comes with the pearly sheen. And it's just that shade- sorta pale grey. I'm contemplating the Lady Dior pochette in that finish. It's beautiful IRL. Lucky sis of yours!

Mink grey looks dark when there is inadequate lighting, so as Serrazane said, it's the Mink Grey that the SA sent you a photo of.

As for the discount, I know that Dior concessions do not follow the same discount procedures as the department stores that they rent space from (since thw concessions are owned and operated by Dior), so what your SA said is true.

At Holt Renfrew here, Dior is excluded from every single discount at Holt Renfrew (except their shoes which are not sold in the concession). If you open a Holt Renfrew American Express card, you're supposed to get 10% off your first purchase, but it excludes every brand that has a concession in the store, including Dior, Louis Vuitton, and Chanel.

Same with David Jones here in Australia.

Yep. That's Mink Grey, and this picture makes it look darker than it really is.

It's definitely not as dark as the pic in real life.

Here's a pic of my Mink Grey LD.
In the lighting that it was taken, it looks sorta pearly nude (but it's also definitely not beige or cream).
My Lady Diors
Hope this helps!

This is a pretty accurate indication of the colour:

Oh, yes those photos are definitely the bags we saw earlier this year. My sis will be sooo happy! Maybe she'll let me borrow her bag

Just an update, the bag arrived. Definitely the right color :) There is a darker grey version, though.

Btw, someone in the Chanel forum stated Dior bags have gone up almost 50% in the last 2 years, is this true!?

Congratulations!!! I wouldn't be able to stop staring at the colour and how it shimmers in various lighting if I owned this bag! It's absolutely beautiful!

Yes, the Lady Dior has gone up in price dramatically in the last two years, and 50% sounds about right. But while this has happened, Dior has added very subtle features to the Lady Dior (they don't change the overall look, but to the trained eye, the bag has evolved a lot in the last two years, and it's even better than before), which justifies the price increases.

Just wondering what changes have been made. Could you please talk about it a bit more?
