As Eminere informed us some time ago Lady Dior Tricolor should come in 5 different pastel combos for Pre-Fall 2012. So nothing is lost yet...Let's hope the other combinations will be more exciting. I find this one quite dull as well.
I didn't expect this colour combination, but it's nice and completely wearable. Brown and black has been very popular on color-blocked bags, but the inclusion of a soft pink makes this bag stand out from the others.
It also appears from this picture that Dior has decided to stitc the front and side panels on the outside rather than hiding the stitching on the inside of the bag (much like the patent leather Lady Dior bags). This makes sense for color-blocked bags, as it defines each colour section with a solid, clean line. Not sure if this will translate to the actual poduct, since DIor's official pictures tend to differ a bit from the actual product from time to time.
Oh I see that the tri-color thread has been subsumed under this fall 2012 thread :) I'm pretty excited about the other tri-color combinations too. I didn't notice the different stitching at the seams but now that averagejoe has pointed it out, I'm much amazed at the great craftsmanship of this Lady Dior!
Here is the new Tricolor Lady Dior for Fall 2012. I hope Dior will come up with some different color combinations as well.
Interesting. This tricolour combination doesn't correspond to any of the five colourways originally presented in the catalogue... I wonder if they've changed any of the others. Would be a shame if they did away with the pastels.

And that's why as I was explaining before these tricolour bags attract the price premium that they do, because the artisan has to stop and change the thread every time he goes over a different coloured panel of leather, so the colour of the thread matches the colour of the leather. There is a lot more handwork involved when you consider Dior could simply have done the seaming on the inside which would then just require one thread colour.
Thank you so much, Emi! These combinations look promising. I wonder if I will manage to get one of them in Europe. Most of the stores get just a couple of those seasonal colors and they sell out very quickly. And the customer service in Germany leaves much to be desired...
