Default Broken Dior sunglasses!! Any way to fix them? :(
So, it's been a few months since this happened but it still breaks my heart everytime i look at my sunglasses.
I was going to pick up some guys I knew that needed a ride to a friend's house.
I put my bag in the backseat and I totally forgot about it. They all got in and the guys sat on my bag (and you know how big teenage boys are)...I didn't have the sunglasses in its case at the moment.
I opened my bag when I got home and one of the legs had broken off!! i was seriously about to have a panic attack. These are my favorite sunglasses and they had to suffer such a horrific death.

Please tell me there's a way to get these fixed! They're definitely over their 1 year warranty so I can't get them exchanged.

Here are some pictures of the corpse:

what it's supposed to look like

It's kinda hard to tell what exactly happened to them in the pictures so let me explain. The metal part that attaches to the glasses and holds the leg, so that it'll move, is completely broken off. The metal of the leg and the metal that is supposed to be attached to the glasses are still intact each other.

Help me pleaseeeeee!!

Take them to the store where you got them - or if that is not possible, another store that carries Dior sunglasses - and ask how much it would take to fix them

I would take them to an eyeglass store and inquire if they can do repairs, that metal hinge must be replaceable! Right?
Lucky the plastic arm itself didn't break. Those savage boys!!

Wow! Seriously I was gonna start a thread about this. In my case, my Dior glossy snapped off. I love them sooo much. I really don't want to have to drop more money on new sunnies. I am gonna write them and see what they say. I will let you know what they say

Hmm, speaking from personal experience, i broke my Dior optical frames under warranty time so i just had to bring them back to the optical store that i'd purchased them at and they sent it back to Dior for repair. It took a good few months because the stuff was on back order for some reason. Basically, because i was still under warranty, it was repaired for free. All i had to pay was a 10$ shipping fee. good luck to you!

Ok,bora, this is what I received in my email yesterday:

We would like to thank you for your interest in Dior.

Concerning the repair of your Dior item, please be kind enough to return with it to the boutique where it was originally purchased. Our sales representatives will then be able to estimate the work to be carried out and give you an approximate time frame for the repair.

You will find the addresses and phone numbers of our boutiques by visiting our website www.dior.com.

Our sales representatives will be more than happy to welcome you and assist you.

Kate Newman
Customer Relations - Christian Dior Couture

My concern as your's is the fact that mine are out of warranty and I no longer have the original receipt lol. I will swing by my local Dior boutique and see how it turns out. Stay tuned

Oh no!! I have Chanel sunnies but would hate anything to happen to them. Keep us updated - hope you get them sorted.

I have had cause to send my Chanel sunnies to the doctors (out of warrenty) and had them sorted free - only having to pay postage.

Ok stopped by the Dior boutique...the SA informed me that Dior outsources another company to manufacture their sunnies(like Chanel). The company name is Safilo 1 800 805 3919. I will contact them after the holidays.

Unfortunatly I went through the same things a few months ago with a new to me pair of vintage sunnies. Because mine are vintage, Safilo can't fix them because they don't have the parts. Good luck with your repair!

Thought I had updated here when I updated in Chanel subforum...oops! lol! Contacted Safilo. The rep was really nice. She informed me that if it was a hardware issue like screws, hinge, etc it would be no problem to fix. She did say because the plastic snapped off, it is non repairable.
