Hi everyone!

I copied these pictures from a Hong Kong seller who sold a beautiful authentic Dior Fligth shearling bag. The seller took Eluxury pics and pictures of a fake and compared them, and I found them VERY useful.

This is a FAKE:

The following are REAL:

A: The real hinge shouldn't look like a ball-and-socket

B: The CD engraving is very poorly done on the fake...not really defined well unlike the real one

C: The fake is made of vinyl, which is reflected in the look of its fabric

D: The wool trim looks like stuffed animal fur on the fake.

ALSO notice that on the FAKE D hinge there is a screw on the surface (to the left of the Dior logo) where the closing mechanism is supposed to be attached, and this doesn't appear on the real one. I use this little screw all the time as the only detail I need to authenticate these Dior Flight bags.

Hmmm...I've never seen one like that before, but from the sound of it, I think it's fake.

Hi again Yoguina!

Whenever the logo lining looks so sheeny, the bag is almost always fake. As for the leather tag, it should never say just "Dior" unless it's a limited edition bag (in which case the Dior logo is written on a metal plaque that is affixed onto the leather flap).

Here are what the dustbags should look like:

This is the older dustbag (before Fall 2005)

Here is the new dustbag (after Fall 2005)

Any dustbag that looks shiney/sheeny/satiny is fake. Now if the dustbag doesn't look EXACTLY like the two above, it doesn't mean that the bag is fake...Dior sometimes changes the font very very slightly (like making the logo slightly less bold, or experimenting with just "Dior" for the Dior Flight dustbags which look like the letters don't actually belong together).

And don't judge a bag's authenticity by its dustbag. The dustbag is just one of the clues...sellers can buy real dustbags and pair them with their fake bags.

BUT if you see a Dior Gaucho with the older generation dustbag (with the words "Christian Dior PARIS") then it is 100% fake. ALL Gauchos have the new dustbag (I've discovered this recently).

Oops...I do remember this now!

The reason why I said that was that every Gaucho I saw on Ebay with the Christian Dior PARIS dustbag was fake (I actually check out most of the Gaucho auctions because I find it intriguing that fakes are selling as high as the real ones for this bag).

I'll change my wording...every Gaucho bag with a dustbag that says Christian Dior PARIS must be approached with caution!!!!

im actually thinking something was faulty with the original dustbag or they misplaced it and just gave me the first one lying around and this happened to be one of the old bags ... im ordering a new gaucho from them this month so we will see if my theory is right!

I think I was wrong....I just found an auction to an authentic Dior Gaucho with the Christian Dior PARIS dustbag (I'll post this link in the Authentic Ebay Auctions Only thread because the price is AMAZING!!). And you're right...dustbags can be arbitrary...I've seen authentic Dior Flight bags with the Christian Dior PARIS logo (although most of the bags had the Dior dustbag with the weird font).
