[quote=pashn4fashn;1323103][quote=pashn4fashn;1323051]AWSOME... here are the pictures... remember... the DENIM is the AUTHENTIC and the WHITE IS THE FAKE.
and... the magnetic buttons on the inside of the bag... the authentic should look very old and rustic without any writing...as with the fake they look new and polished with some text on it! |

and ofcourse! the all important authenticity cards... the one on the top is authentic... notice the slight difference in the colour, also the card should be stamped by the authorised dealer and the card itself has a unique number above the date... the fake card has none of these!

wow, thanks so much for the helpful pictures & details pashn! i'm sure all the PFers who're looking for a gaucho will find both your comparison photos & mayday's general authentication guide very helpful. i'm sure it'd definitely weed out a good number of fakes. great job!

oh, sorry about that, its just that i was told my Dior at David Jones that they stamp all the authenticity cards and they all have that serial number on top of the date. Re the warranty, they said that its only valid with a receipt. |

WOW! Thanks a MILLION pashn4fashn! The fake that your sister has is actually a more accurate fake (the "lambskin" links are dirtied on hers and are also the right color), but still it can't compare with the real one! I want to take these pics and show everyone who tells me that people can;t tell if a fake is real, because they can (for Dior at least)!!

I think those people who argue that they can't tell between a fake and an original gaucho are those who have never seen the real thing. The most obvious way to detect a fake is just by loking at the face on the medallion, the face on the authentic gaucho has so much mre detailes and character than the fake bag, the face on the fake almost looks sad! (so it should) I wish i could do more to raise ppls awareness... I think i will have to borrow my sisters fake bag and burn it. |

Mr. Dior's face must be sad because he is appearing on a fake!!!I wish your sister can appreciate your real Gaucho and see how different it is from hers. Yeah, she probably got it for way less than yours (probably not off Ebay, because fakes sell for quite a bit on Ebay), but the quality and craftsmanship she paid for is nothing close to that of the real deal. |

the first gaucho you asked about seems real BUT there are things that i find uncomfortable with - first, it might be my computer screen but the auction is for a brown gaucho, but it looks reaaally dark, almost like a black gaucho in the pictures. but that may be due to the fault of the camera than the bag itself. the second thing is, the picture of the interior of the bag shows a red tag & zip pull. again it might be my computer screen/the seller's camera acting up, but that looks more like the colour of the red gaucho than the brown gaucho. moreover i'm not too keen about the seller's negative feedback (lots of non-payment complaints from sellers and late delivery complaints from buyers). another thing to note is the low selling price, the bag looks to be in good (if not new) condition and that price is really scarily low for a gaucho. the second gaucho really confused me, the white seems authentic, the cd engravings look alright too, but it's the wrong dust bag! plus the item description mentions double saddle, but the pictures show a medium (single) saddle. (the seller has bought some really odd stuff too. but that's irrelevant really) in all honesty, i wouldn't really bid on either of them. i know real gauchos can sometimes sell for the high $700+ (i've seen on BIN for $799) and lv1011 did sell her white gaucho for a fantastic price, but i've honestly not seen a gaucho sell for so low - i.e. the $400+ region. anyway, it might be better if you posted any authenticity questions in the authentication thread (which is the first thread) in the forum. that's where all authencity questions should go. ![]() well good luck in your hunt for a gaucho! |

This Gaucho is fake . The authenticity card is covered in plastic, the picture of the inside was stolen from someone else (who also sells fakes), and the tag says that the color is blanc cass, which is white (not black...fakes usually have the wrong details on their tags).

We were posting at the same time Zerodross! I posted my message and then noticed yours :) The second one does have the wrong dustbag, and it also has an inaccurate Dior logo, lambskin links that are too "clean-looking", and the studs are not concealed by the belt buckle. So it's also fake .
