Just as a matter of pedantic semantics, the sequences are not serial numbers but rather manufacturing datecodes. It is therefore entirely possible for two very different bags across two different styles to share the same sequence.

emi is right apart from the date of production the numbers and letters signify the location where the bag was produced

haha thanks. I guess I just called the numbers that because it said "serial codes" in the authenticity guides. Everyone here is so knowledgeable, I love it!

On saddles the C and D on the sides have that little connector piece. Is the C ALWAYS attached to the connector in a way that it does not move freely? The D is jointed where it meets the connector piece. I have noticed that on most fakes the C and D both are jointed and move.

The first picture is authentic, the C and the connector are one piece. The second photo is fake, the C is a separate piece from the connector piece and can move around. I don't know if this has been brought up before. I was curious if this always holds true for an authentic bag?

hi ladies ... just to confirm when you said that C and the connector are one piece and does not move freely, do you mean bendable? Because I just bought a saddle a month ago and been authenticated in PF, and it is authentic. And the C and the connector can bent, so as the D and the connector.

hmm.. I never seen or owned a double before but I did ask a seller who has a double saddle and they confirmed that the "C" is non moveable. I also looked at some other auctions of Saddle and the authentic ones do seem to be non-moveable.

This is a real mystery. Maybe anyone who does have a saddle confirm if they actaully have one that is moveable.

D: The interior leather flap MUST have an accurate Christian Dior PARIS logo in embossed OR silver OR gold lettering. The font of Christian Dior is very weird; the C and D are taller than the rest of the letters EXCEPT the h, which has a back that extends to the height of the C. Notice the stitching around the edges of this flap; some authentic models do NOT have this stitching (it's just one piece of leather).

E: The zipper pull is a metal CD but this is ONLY for the Dior Saddle (NO other bag should have this). Almost all fakes get this detail right, but this is something that all saddles need to have.

It's a shame the picture's are gone!

here you go

some older saddles wont bulge out that much, also some tags just have the logo embossed on the tag, not in silver or gold.

I've been reading through this thread and it's very informative. Thank you to everyone who contributed with the helpful advice, I'm learning a lot from it.
I just wanted to add one thing in regard to Beautifulbasics' pic above about misspelled words. I noticed the fake guide has another major spelling error on the first page - it says "MATNTENANCE" instead of "MAINTENANCE".

Hi ladies,
I'm new to Dior bags so maybe I'm asking something silly...Are lady dior classics and cannages different? Which one has shoulder strap? I'm looking for bags that also have shoulder straps and I'm so confused. And I noticed sometimes the front side of the tag says Christian Dior paris Made in Italy but sometimes Made in Italy part is on the back. Does it matter?
If I'm posting at the wrong thread, sorry...
TIA!!
