CHRISTIAN DIOR GIRLY BAGS - GUIDE I

DIOR GIRLY TAG

• white patent leather tag
• finished around every edge with stitching
• front: embossed with "Christian Dior" and "PARIS"
• back: embossed with "MADE IN ITALY" and serial code BO, letter, four numbers (ex: BO F 1234)

AUTHENTICITY TIP: If the tag is not finished with stitching on every edge - fake!

DIOR GIRLY INTERIOR

• lining is dusty rose color that Dior states upon the price tag as "Rose Clair"
• lining is never logo print, baby pink or tan/taupe colored
• interior has one pocket with white patent leather leaf shaped zipper pull

AUTHENTICITY TIP: If the lining is either logo fabric, baby pink or tan/taupe colored - fake!

DIOR GIRLY LOCK

• lock has an automatic pop open mechanism and requires no key
• the lock will be completely covered in swarovski crystals around the 'Dior' logo

AUTHENTICITY TIP: If the lock comes with a key or does not have swarovski crystals - fake!

DIOR GIRLY FLOWERS, NUMBER 1, ETC.

• flowers are not hard plastic material
• flowers can mold upwards or under
• number 1 has a very slight edge
• swarovski crystals are very bright
• flowers or number 1 will never be falling off

AUTHENTICITY TIP: If flowers or number 1 are falling off - fake!

DIOR GIRLY ZIPPER BACK

• backside of metal zipper will be engraved with "Christian Dior" and "PARIS"
• many other Dior style handbags have a Lampo zipper, but no Girly style bags do

AUTHENTICITY TIP: Back of zipper is engraved with Lampo - fake!

DIOR GIRLY DUST BAG

• Girly style dust bag is white cotton with grey lettering "Christian Dior" and underneath "PARIS"
• newer non-girly style Dior handbags have either this dust bag or one with grey "DIOR" lettering

AUTHENTICITY TIP: Lettering that is black or silk dust bag - fake!

DIOR GIRLY SIDE STRIPS

• two strips run down the front and back of the Dior Boston handbag with the words "Dior" in white
• the words "Dior" are printed on each strip twice and will never be covered up
• the first "Dior" word printed upon the front strips just barely meets the patent leather handle trim

AUTHENTICITY TIP: If any of the "Dior" words upon the strips are covered up or cut off - fake!

HARDWARE: CONNECTING THE SIDE 'C' AND 'D'

• "Christian Dior" engraved within the piece
• no screws ever within the side piece between the 'C' and 'D'

INSIDE TAG/LABEL

• newer edition bags: leather tag finished around every edge with stitching
• older edition bags (prior to 1990-92): leather tag stitched on top edge only
• tag has rounded bottom corners and square top corners
• the lettering embossed upon the tag are centered
• front of tag/label: embossed with "Christian Dior" and "PARIS"
• back of tag/label: embossed with "Made in Italy" or "Made in Spain" and serial code
• mini saddle bag back of tag/label: majority embossed with "Made in Spain" and serial code

AUTHENTICITY TIP: If it is a newer edition bag and the tag is not finished with stitching on every edge - fake!

HARDWARE: INTERIOR 'CD' ZIP PULL

• the top of the letter C upon a fake 'CD' zip pull is deeply indented
• no other Dior handbag style has a 'CD' zip pull, only regular and double saddle bags
• regular and double saddle bags: always have 'CD' zip pull

mini, baudier and sports tote saddle bags: have a leather zip pull
AUTHENTICITY TIP: Only Dior regular and double saddle bags have a 'CD' zip pull - no other Dior bags!

HARDWARE: EXTERIOR HANGING 'D'

• the large fake 'D' shown below is within the wrong font
• denote the thick bottom of the authentic 'D' compared to the fake
• the 'CD" engraved upon the fake is not as prominent

SADDLE SHAPE

• regular saddle bag's have a very distinct shape
• underneath the bag should slant up
• the right side should have a shapely bump outwards
• most fake saddle bag's do not have the correct shape

DIOR AUTHENTICITY ITEMS

• all style's of Dior bags come with three authenticity items:
• (1) "Authenticity Certificate Card" envelope
• (1) "Maintenance Guide": three sections in languages French, English and Chinese
• (1) "Authenticity Certificate Card": grey colored plastic, backside in languages French, English and Chinese
• Authenticity Certificate Card front has either black or gold lettering and should have no peeling letters
• Authenticity Certificate Card back is watermarked in fine print with "CHRISTIAN DIOR" continuously
• Note: most Dior sale's associates do not complete the back of the Authenticity Certificate Cards
• please be careful, some fake Dior items come with fake Dior tag and fake authenticity items

AUTHENTICITY TIP: Misspelled words within the Christian Dior Maintenance Guide - fake!

DIOR GENERAL NOTES

• Dior price tag is never attached with a black string, only white
• the price tag will never have printing or price stickers upon the back
• the grey colored plastic "Authenticity Certificate Card" never comes within plastic
• only regular Dior saddle handbags have an inner "CD" zipper pull
• dust bag lettering is always in grey; never black, red and so on
