What is the best way to tell a Double Saddle fake? Is all leather distressed and vintage looking? I want to buy one, but now I think I am better off spending the extra $$ for an in-person sale.

Hi amelialogan,

The best way to tell is to compare the pics of the bag you want to buy with pictures from Eluxury as well as pictures of the same bag on Ebay from reputable sellers (because they most likely have real bags, especially those approved by My Poupette). Compare little details like Mr. Christian Dior's face (and the indentations in his face...his face shouldn't appear smooth), the Dior logo, the studs that are supposed to be entirely concealed by the belt buckle on the front of the bag, the logo jacquard lining, and the leather tag inside the bag that says "Christian Dior PARIS". If the one you want to buy is missing one or two details, it's most likely fake.

I hope this helps!

I need Dior experts to look at this for me and let me know if this is authentic or not. Thanks in advance!

Hmm if it's newer than the dustbag is wrong, which would mean it's a fake. But I do remember people saying this bag was 3 to 5 years old, and other than that it looks good, so I would just ask for more pictures (maybe a closer up of the inside?). Hope it works out!

I do not know if this will help anyone but I have 4 Dior gauchos bought from Harrods and Selfridges. Their are ways to tell a gaucho fake on ebay 1. If the seller lists for 3 days or less this gives warning signs because hes listing just 3 days before Ebay can chuck him off. 2 On the double saddle underneath the flap is a strap that is part of the shoulder strap this should be all in one bit with 3 poppers to undo it, some of the fakes have this strap cut just tucking under the saddle or it does not have the 3 poppers. 3. On the medium saddle their is a strap at the sides the fakes have the strap end the wrong way round. So if you are going to buy a gaucho on ebay look for these points also no one is going to sell a authentic gaucho for $400 or less. Hope this helps

Hi ladies
This is my very first post .
I've been purusing the forums for a while, mainly in Dior and Chanel, and thought I would start here.

Is this an authentic Dior? eBay.ca: 100% AUTHENTIC CHRISTIAN DIOR BLK DOCTOR / TOTE BAG (item 230026244719 end time 13-Sep-06 15:11:22 EDT)

Would appreciate any opinions from the experts. TIA

Hello, Have to say I am more a "so called" expert on gauchos. I do not know what this bag retails for but if its being sold a lot cheaper then would have doubts. Ask seller if she has the receipt and if she would send it with the bag. Her feedback looks pretty good. The best thing is to talk to the seller and see what you think. Maybe someone else who has this bag can help more. it looks a lovely bag.

Deanokins,
I almost bought that bag in the store a couple months ago, and it retails for $1,095. On that grounds alone, I would say that one is fake. But it also looks to be the wrong shape and lower quality than the actual Dior bag (you can see it on eluxury.com). The leather is too pebbled. Good luck with your search for a Dior bag, however! Dior and Chanel are my two favorite brands as well

Yeah, I agree with CatLover, except the seller sells a Dior Malice bag that I know for sure is authentic. I can't tell if the doctor bag you want is authentic, especially from the pics provided, but the Malice is defintely authentic (and made of python).

Thanks, ladies.

It's hard to buy these bags nowadays, there are just so many fakes!

Thanks for your advice.

Can someone tell me if these are authentic or not?
Is it even possible to get a good deal on a Gaucho on eBay?

White Gaucho / Brown Gaucho

Hi naughtymanolo,

I can't really tell from the pictures because they're so blurry, but I seem to be able to see two exposed studs right below the top of the decorative belt buckle, and I shouldn't be able to see them (the ones on my double bag are well concealed by the belt buckle). Unless I'm seeing something that's not actually there, this bag is a fake.

If there were more clear pics of the bag maybe I can see thsoe studs better, and also the other details of the bag.
