Hey! (My first post here...I'm a newbie.) I'd like to know who makes the best FAKE Gaucho Saddle Bags...Is there a fake that is good enough out there that you would have to really look close to tell the difference?

Yes there are (I've seen them on Ebay), although I don't know who manufactures them (if I did I'd make sure they get arrested). For these ones, some details still definitely give them away...Dior's face on the coin, the leather texture...those will always give them away. But you have to look closer at these details. |

Welcome to the Purse Forum (sorry I somehow missed the welcome in my last post)!!! Sorry but this Gaucho is fake. The Dior logo gives it away immediately it's not accurate). Also, the Gaucho never came out in a caramel color. |

It's really hard to tell because the pictures of the inside leather tag are so close up and fuzzy that it's hard to make out the entire logo (which should be very defined on that tag). What strikes me as suspicious is the fact that the interior leather flap has embossed words on one side, and silver (somewhat smudged silver, too...the serial numbers I've seen so far are written with nice, solid, clean silver words) words on the reverse; around the time of the Dior Ballet bag, the lettering on both sides of that leather tag were either completely embossed, or silver on the FRONT and embossed on the back (it's weird how it's reversed here). However, fakes of the ballet bag tend to have VERY VERY fake interior leather tags with entirely wrong logos, and this one is an exception. If you can post more pics of the inside (including the lining) it'd be a lot easier to tell! |

I saw that bag on Luxury-Alliance, which many PFers have bought from and they've said that they usually sell only authentic bags, which was why i was semi-confident about it being authentic! I think the bag's been preloved thats why the silver words have been smudged off with use?  I'm going to ask them for more pics of the interior and post them here before deciding though, thanks heaps for your help (and for any future help, hehe!)

Sorry but this Gaucho is fake. The leather has a weird color (and effect...you can see white streaks in it), the lambskin links are inaccurate, and the interior leather tag is entirely off. These emoticons are SOOO CUTE! This one makes me laugh:
