Yes, it is all regular NM stores. You should call another NM to pre-sale. Try the one at Tysons Corner, VA. I know for a fact they are doing pre-sale.

I was wondering about non-clothing markdowns.
So, I called NM and spoke to someone in a non-apparel department. Not trying to repeat, just passing on what I was told:

They said that they're doing presale and the official start of the sale is next Wednesday, July 15.
According to the SA, the prices would be about 65% off. But that doesn't sound correct to me. Unless it varies from department to department.
He said that they just took a hard markdown on sale items, which is lower than last time's sale. There is no extra % off the sticker price, but instead, a lower "final" sticker price. The last sale was for an extra 25% off of sale items. At least that was the last sale in store which I recall. I purchased items at that time for about 62.50% off. I am assuming it would be closer to 70% off this time around. But, I think last winter, some departments had 75% off.

Yes, it is different from dept to dept. I think handbag/shoe/accessory is generally only 55% off, while apparel is around 65% off.

Selected merchandise only.
Savings off original prices.
Interim markdowns may have been taken.

Thanks for clarifying Alice!
It is confusing, to say the least, with all the different %s off.
Wish they could just do a straight 75% off across all departments.
Then again, that could be scary, both for the shoppers and bad news for the store. And I know we all want NM to stay around for a long, long time.

I wonder if any of you got the black/yellow patent chanel pumps i preordered today (NM)? I was kicking myself for passing on some blue/green ones at Saks last week so scoured SF for this pair =)
