It is against the rules at tPF to offer to invite or to ask for invites to these member only sales. Current members that invite others receive a kick back/$ and this sort of this is just not permitted.

PLEASE stop offering and asking. You can post the sale, but that's ALL.

Also, referral codes, sale codes, etc. . . or anything that results in you getting a kickback of any kid is prohibited.

Why is so bad to invite others to join these sales? Yeah, we get kickbacks for inviting them, but I'm sure a lot of people want in on these sites because of the fantastic deals.

It's not in the spirit of tPF to let random people pimp out things they're getting paid for.

Well, it's the site that's giving us the kickbacks. I would think that many of us would still offer the membership to others without it. Besides, it's credit, you don't get any money without the invited having bought something first.

Why doesn't tPF or Megs join each one of these membership only sites .. and then she can refer anyone from tPF that wants to join -- just make a sticky for it "Membership shopping sites" or something...

It's a win-win situation
tPF gets the referral bonus when it's members join
and we get to stop seeing people posting referrals and/or asking for invites.

I think that is a VERY good idea, finzup! I know tPF's policy about this so I haven't asked anyone for an invite... but it hurts to see others getting deals that I can't attain because I'm being good! If TPF gets refferal points then we would all get to join withoutout getting in trouble!

someone had mentioned previously that if you put in the customer service email as the referring email you would be able to register. it worked for me a few weeks back and if that doesnt work there's always the waiting list option. i just cleared that a few days ago (took several weeks tho)...

Most forums I belong to frown upon referrals.

On the flip side of the Vlad or Megs idea.. I can see it going bad for them in a heartbeat...

IMO it would be perceived as them endorsing the particular site. Then all it would take is one persons bad experience with one of the sites for them to have a mess on their hands.

I was wondering that too. I saw that message about the email associated with RLL themselves as a way you could refer yourself into joining, and that's how I got on the site as well. If we could recommend using that address, then people could join and participate but no one would be benefiting from kick backs. But I wasn't sure if that would be allowed.
