I went to Nordstrom today to check out the designer handbags - the Burberry tote is a cute basic one and came in 3 colors -- black, a wine color and a metallic. There was also a M. Kors bag in black or brown and two MJ styles - both in ivory and black -- that was about it for designer brands -- they did have a ton of other bags though and lots of slg's. The Burberry wrap is very nice - in 3 color combos - I got the last purple one they had. Tons of fashion jewelry but very little of the nicer stuff -- no KJL that I saw but a ton of Betsy Johnson and Kate Spade pieces if you're into those brands. Shoes- Cole Haan boots that were cute but $299 on sale -yikes! Donald Pliner booties - also cute - some very cool Vera Wang black boots w/ buckles and several Ugg styles including the cardi style and a loafer -- 2 Burberry styles - ballet flat and a wedge sandal. I checked out 3 of the clothing depts and honestly I was really disappointed - I usually spend a ton on this sale and I presold almost nothing - the clothing selection was awful IMO - it looks like they tried to throw as much "inexpensive" merch at us as they could -- I would have rather had fewer nicer things honestly. I presold a cardi, a M. Kors top, the Burberry wrap and a couple pieces of jewelry for DD - my cc is thrilled

Wow, thanks for the report! I'm disappointed but also relieved, since it often motivates me to buy things I hadn't planned on buying. I have an idea of what I want for Fall and this would have certainly been a distraction!

^^thats awesome! sorry to hear the clothing isn't that great. yeah, isn't the burberry wrap fantastic!? I was thrilled we were getting those in.

regarding the juicy sun, some of the styles are a bit newer, ones I haven't seen before and the price point is great as well...I believe 64.90? MUCH better than the half-yearly price for sure, although juicy DID lower their prices on sun.

I'm checking here multiple times a day for word that the catalog is out. Last year, didn't someone post scans of the catalog?

My pre-sale appointment is set for 5pm on the 6th. The SA said that they wouldn't have everything out then, that they'd have more out on the 9th, but that I could always come back.

I'm interested in the bags, but way more excited about the shoes. I'm pregnant this year, so I can't really get the clothes, unless there's some really good jackets or cardigans.

I'm not real excited about the beauty offerings this year. Maybe the only thing that I'll get from that department is the Lippman Collection nail polishes. Those are kind of cool.

Oh well, more money to spend on bags and shoes!

They had at least 3 Ugg styles, but I didn't see those - they had a more classic Ugg, a Cardi Ugg and then an Ugg loafer type shoe.

I was stunned to find out that the Nordstrom store I shop at a lot had almost everything already out to look at yesterday -- all the handbags/jewelry/accessories were there -- I looked at clothing in 5 different depts and they all said not much more was coming in! They had the preview rooms already set up in Handbags/accessories, shoes, Encore, Point of View, 121,Individualist, Athletic -- I missed Savvy and didn't look at any Men's or Juniors though.

My Nordstrom is one of the biggest in the state, but it does the presale in one large stock room that they completely empty out. They basically have one of each item to look at, and then if you want to try stuff on, you go to a fitting room and they bring you one in your size. They have bags hanging on the wall all the way up to the ceiling, and shoe racks taller than me. It's really crowded, and they can only let about 10 shoppers in at a time. It's really fun, though.

Are they letting anyone put in an order during the presale? In my past experience, some SAs were strict about only letting Nordstrom cardholders level 2 & up do it.
