On the last Big Purchase event they had, they do take 10% off when you open a new account. And it worked for Chanel and everything else, except Louis Vuitton. It is super sweet. I still haven't pay for the purchases I made last year it is no interest and no payment for one year. But, as soon as the offer expires, the APR is rideculously high, something to think of.

So I am getting the impression that a lot of the SAs have not heard yet from their Saks that the MPA account special is from 11/5-12/12 and that it includes more than just jewelry and Fur for this event. I, too, called and verified that it was a special from 11/5-12/12, but the rep on the phone couldn't verify if there were brand exclusions...she said it would apply to handbags, but she didn't know if certain brands it was excluded.

Honestly, the SAs HAVE to know about this stuff. I am not blaming them, but the store managers and customer service should tell them so that they can sell it to customers! The fact that I am calling an SA to tell her about it is wrong...

the rules seems more straight forward than the previous promo lol. Will update if there's any news :)

LV purchase do qualify for points, up to double points.

If you open a new account, you will get 10% off (Chanel included, but no LV), Triple points and MPA if the amount is more than 2k

Now as far as the interest free, I thought it's 6 months?

I think a few people have called Saks CS and confirmed that the MPA promo is for 12 months interest-free. I hope CS is not giving out wrong info. My Saks SA knew the MPA was going to occur, but didn't know when it was going to start. Either way, it's a great deal!

Man this makes me wish I didn't have a Saks card so that I could open one for the 10% off. Man that Chanel large Shopper at 2100 with a wallet for 10% off, tax free (if from another state ) and interest free for 12 months?! Drooool!

triple points is only for 2 days, MPA is really at the store manager's discretion IMO.

Do they require a minimum each month or do you just have until a year to pay off the balance before interest kicks in?

Also can someone tell me what a Major Purchase Account is? I have a Saks card and the Saks visa card.. is that the same thing?
