Yeah! PSN (Private Shopping Night) just in time for the holidays!

Gapa - same ole deal - $50 for every $750, $100 for every $1250, $200 for every $2250 and $500 for every $5000. Haven't heard anything about the next Amex event...hopefully we get one in time for Christmas.

J'adore - I think everything in store is included (let's wait for another confirmation to be sure).

Let's make that list and check it twice!

I'm about 2 hours to the closest Holt's and I haven't been to one very often so I have a couple of questions....

Can anyone go to the PSN?

It looks like the discount is less than 10% in most cases which doesn't seem like that much. Are the items already on sale and it is an extra 10%?

I'm wondering if it would be worthwhile to make a special trip. Of course, now that I have thought about it, it is always worthwhile to make a trip to go shopping!

Joy - it's fun to go to just based on the atmosphere and all. I like going to people watch and shop (mais oui!!).

Joy, I think anyone can go. First time I went I just crashed the party, lol. I heard about it at work and just decided to go after work that night. The SAs didn't mind, I guess it helped that I was in my work attire at the time. I called HR this morning and they told me that you can visit ahead and hold an item or two a week ahead. I have a bag I've been thinking about and it's the only one left. Hope no one picks it up before then.

I don't think it is worth it to make a special trip. A few weeks after PSN comes their 40% off sale. Now, that's a sale - not this stupid $50 for every $750 gimmick.

Of course, not everything goes on sale (Chanel, etc)... then it is worth it to get $500 if you are spending $5000 anyway.

Yes, anyone can go. As far as discount, it doesn't matter if the item you are buying is regular priced or on sale...as long as the total before taxes is $750 or more, you'll get some $ back in the form of Holt Renfrew gift card.

As for going to the PSN itself after two hours of travelling, I think you can do it once just to experience it and then decide for yourself if it's worth it

. Personally, I do not go there during the event. I pre-order LVs and pick them up a day or two after the PSN. LVs never goes on sale so I only buy them during PSN to get something back. Let me tell you though, it's always a madhouse at Holt's during the event. Many people do come to shop and enjoy some food/beverage. Lastly, a small % of PSN sales go to charity.
