Banff was my best vacation of all time. Better than Europe/Asia/Hawaii/anywhere in the U.S. The Fairmont was stunning. We went there for their famous brunch and it was well worth the money. There is so much to do there, I was so glad we went!

Oooooo...I can't wait! I used to work with a guy who loved Banff so much that he would take his family there twice yearly!! Every single picture that he showed me was more beautiful than the one before. Again, considering how much I loved Alaska, I'm certain to be as impressed if not more so with Banff. Because my DH has been there many times before, he has already planned out our itinerary without sharing any of the details!

Starresky...I'm excited to hear how much you enjoyed your vacation in Banff and am now more eager than ever to go there. Can you elaborate on what there is to do there?

There are a gazillion lakes and waterfalls, each one more beautiful than the next. So you'll do some hiking but it is really low-impact because even I could do it, lol. Horseback riding right near the Fairmont was one of my favorite parts of my trip. We also went to Jasper and did the tramway there. We did rafting too and that was a blast. There is just a lot of scenery that will take your breath away. Honestly, the most stunning place I have ever been to and it's unending. I hope you have a great time but I can't imagine how you could not!

Mischelle agreed to the 25% discount after I wrote to her last summer asking if she would match Revolve. Having saved the email, I thought I should post it again considering we have many new members who may not be aware of it. She allows you to use it towards the purchase of sale items which I think is generous. The only items to which you cannot apply it are those from her personal collection.

I've never been to Banff although my DH has been about a half dozen times or more. As much as I loved and enjoyed our two trips to Alaska, I'm certain that Banff won't disappoint me! I don't like crowds at all, so hearing that is a bummer. Here's where we are staying...is it as awesome as it appears?

Maria,

My boyfriend is from Calgary and knows quite a bit about Banff. The Fairmont is supposed to be GORGEOUS. The view is supposed to be unbelievable.

Have a fantastic time! Of course you will be surely missed.

Thanks jadejett! From the pictures, it looks like a castle!! DH says we're staying in a suite for the week! By golly, I'm so geared up for this and so ready to be pampered!!! From all the pictures I've seen, Banff is breathtaking!

I think you're going to be really pleased. And you SO deserve to be pampered! Make sure you take pics and post when you get back!

Did you hear back from Michelle? Since it let you place the order I'm hoping they'd just charge you and send it when it comes in? I really want one too!!!

Just received this from Mischelle...

Quote:

Thanks Maria,

I am waiting right now to hear from RM – I want to confirm that I can get more of the original basketweave bags (blue zipper track, tassels, original hardware). I am taking orders, and reserving the bags in the order I receive the orders so it’s always good to ‘get in line’ and I never charge any credit cards until I ship out the bags myself. I am already almost sold out again! But if they have more available, I will increase my order. Basically I want to be sure RM has them before I take too many orders. If I don’t hear anything today, I’ll make another call tomorrow.

FYI – I’ve got the following coming in August:

Nikki in Yellow, Navy, Black
Matinee in Grey, Wine
Clutch in Persimmon, Black
Morning After Mini in Navy

As always, thanks so much for your help in informing the wonderful tPF ladies!

Thank you and best regards,
Mischelle

Bagachondriac, You will definitely want to have high tea at the Fairmont and visit the hotsprings. If you don't like your room - ask to be moved - the rooms really vary in the hotel from old to new decor. We were once moved into a suite that had previously been used by Edward and Wallace Simpson - with beautiful antique furnishings and the best view ever.

The town of Banff has great restaurants and lots of little kitchy boutiques. There are a couple of nice boutiques under the Fairmont itself. The spa is heavenly. Enjoy your trip!!!!

The new customer discount is something she agreed to last fall and there is no expiration. As for the toutie code, I don't know, but doubt that it will expire in August. Mischelle is WONDERFUL and I'm certain she'll take care of you!!

Horsetrader...when time permits, I'd love to hear more about your trip to Banff. We leave in about 3 weeks and I've lots of planning to do. BTW,..considering the airlines are charging out the ying-yang for baggage these days, my DH tells me that I have to pack 'light' (whatever that means! LOL!). What type of clothing would you recommend I take to wear during the day? Will I need warm clothing/jackets?

Bagachondriac, I am just about to leave my office for a road trip to the Rockies with my family. We are not making it as far as Banff this time, but will stay at Radium Hotsprings, a family resort. Anyway, when I return next week I will email you suggestions for packing. Banff itself is extremely casual - you will see lots of fleece - but the Fairmont is quite formal in its dining areas - men must wear jackets for dinner, etc. More to follow, gotta run.....

I'm sure you've seen Bag's post, but I did hear back from her and she said pretty much the exact same thing to me. I'm very excited to just be "in line"!

UPDATE...........

Quote:
I have just spoken with our rep at Rebecca Minkoff. We have been told that they do not have any more of the MAB with the blue zipper track, tassels, original hardware. We had been told that before our last order was shipped to us and then we received 2 bags in the original style. We are now being shipped bags which we believe will have the black zipper track, brass hardware which is not as shiny gold, and with smooth leather instead of pebbled (many people prefer this style, but I know you did not think you were ordering it). I would like to get the bags in to verify which style is actually shipped to us before you cancel your orders. I just wanted to keep everyone posted on what we are being told.

The bags will ship out from RM today. We will let you know as soon as they arrive.

Thank you for your patience.

Thank you and best regards,
Mischelle
