I went once I think a year ago or maybe 2. I went the first Friday after it started and agree I didn't see anything. It was a lot of junk IMO. Not much selection on shoes and I don't remember seeing any bags. The markdowns were not great either.

But, it sounds like the best thing to do is go right before the sale ends for the best markdowns. I've also heard they replenish stock throughout the sale. However, for me it wasn't worth the 50+ mile drive each way.

Personally I'm curious about going on a Sunday...it seems like there'd be less people on a Sunday, but then again it's the weekend...
i went twice: the day before the sale ended and the last day. last february, it ended on a monday so i was there on sunday and monday (which was a holiday-president's day, i believe). i was lucky that sunday when i got my loot. but on the last day, the selection seriously sucked and i left empty handed.

i think barneys warehouse sale is a hit or miss thing so i don't want to get anyone's hopes up. (sorry if i posted my photos) you'll have to be willing to sift through loads of junk before you'll find your "treasure". in previous years, i bought stuff just because i already made the drive and didn't want to leave empty handed, but that was a huge mistake that i've learned from. i still have a marc by marc dress and top and a dvf tee that i have never worn.

and it's not like going to a sample sale where prices are marked down by 70%-90% off. prices at the sale will be at the most 40%-50% off when the sale starts. but if you really, really want that balenciaga jacket that you've been pining for all season this is the time to go for it. otherwise, Saks after christmas sales may even be better.

I went last year, driving up from OC, and I thought it was a waste of time. The selection of clothes was decent, but the prices were meh. The out of season Marc Jacobs clothes were cheaper at the Off Fifth at the Block. There were very few bags and the shoe selection was paltry. I went on the first weekend too.

I have found better deals at the Barneys outlet in Cabazon and Carlsbad. I do love to shop, so maybe I'll head up there some other time

I'm curious to know too! I'm trying to avoid going, but I'd like to know if it's worth it.

i went today! shoes were hectic, but i got a lot of good buys.
i found a pair of balenciaga heels down to 330 from 850!!
also, YSL heels for 200, Chloe flat sandals for 230 and Chloe heels for 245.
I bought four pairs of shoes.
Honestly, the clothes was a mess and overwhelming and I didn't want to deal with it.
The shoes were worth while.
I will prob check back in later this week to see if they have further markdowns and anything good left.
i'll post pictures if you girls would like...

I went yesterday and got a pair of Fendi's for $260 (originaly $650) and a pair of Manolo's for $340 (originally $540). xoxo is right, the clothing was a mess, but the shoes made up for it.

I also got myself 2 shirts ($60 each- 1 DVF and the other Elijah) and some shirts for the boyfriend.

I find the best deals towards the end of the sale when they have slashed prices. in Feb I got a stunning evening gown of $800.00 from $5000.00

I wasn't impressed. Only "as-is" damaged handbags there. Discounts on shoes not as great as Saks.
