I purchased a used Vavin pm and after I got it home, I noticed that the date code was stamped upside down. It's behind the d-ring, so when you flip the ring up to see the backside where the code is, it reads upside down. Were the codes ever stamped this way or is this a fake bag? The code is SR 0070.

Yes, this is normal for the Vavin's date code to be up-side down.

SR0070 means that it was made in France in July of 2000.
