Default Louis Vuitton - MADE IN JAPAN???
Hi all....I just wondered if any of you out there knew whether or not LV is having certain pieces made in Japan...I've heard of accessories, sunglasses etc.....Can any of you confirm....IS THIS TRUE? Not that it would be a bad thing....I just wonder. Also, what would the manufacturing code be within the date code?

Thanks for your help/opinions on this....=)

I've never heard of sunnies being made in Japan. And I don't think any LV piece is made in Japan now.

Sunnies are all made in France to my knowledge. Spare parts (eg. cloth, case) can be made elsewhere like Romania or Spain.

My sunnies are "Made by hand in Italy" and have both a product code and date code. I have tried on sunnies that have no date code, but they were a 2009 model, so maybe they aren't putting date codes on sunnies anymore? Oh, and all of the sunnies I've tried were "Made by hand in Italy" ... hope that helps some.

I don't think any LV's were ever made in Japan. I know some T & Co. porcelain items are made in Japan. Hugo Boss jean are typically made in Romania (awesome quality btw).

Then you're all wrong, haha. Indeed, some sunglasses (like the Alias) are made in Japan, you can even see it on the inside of some pictures of sunnies at the LV-site. I don't know if it means that one perticular model of sunglasses is made in just one country, for example the Alias only in Japan.
Besides, sunglasses are also made in France, and maybe Germany, but I don't know that for sure.

I can confirm some sunglasses are made in Japan. I can't remember the specific models but I have seen them in the boutiques!
