If you are in the US you'll find a lot of the bigger pieces and wallets with many CC slots are made in the US as there is more demand for those products there. They make in the US so they can get them to stores quicker but you're unlikely to find a made in the US piece in Europe.

LV has quality control so all should be of the same standard but different people have different standards and what one person see's as a fault another doesn't.
ITA, well said!
I was just thinking this but you worded it much better than I would have.

Honestly I would prefer my bags to be from France. Does anyone specifically ask for a bag from France, USA, SPain, etc....?

^^ I make my SA's search for any bags Made in FRANCE. It's just my preference.

When purchasing my second LV, my SA said "Wow, you were lucky enough to get one made in France." I was confused. I thought they were all made in France. Then, she whispered to me that a lot of customers only accept bags made in France, because that's where LV originated. Then, she told me not to tell my friend, as she was also purchasing a bag and hers was made in USA and she didn't want to start any confusion. So, since my SA made such a big deal about it, I thought surely it's the thing to do. So, from then on, I only accepted/purchased LV pieces that were made in France. When, I purchased my Damier Azur speedy, I originally got one that was made in USA, because it was a gift. But, I called every LV in Las Vegas (that's where I was at the time) looking for a bag made in France. They did not have any. I got back to GA and refused to carry the bag. I called every store here and they did not have any made in France. One SA out right told me I wouldn't find it, because the bag was too popular! There was just something in my mind that wanted the bag to be made in France. Especially since the stamp is on the outside of the speedy. Well, one day, I was in Neiman's, just looking, and happened to ask the SA if they had a Damier Azur speedy made in France. She looked through all of the bags and found 1!!!! I drove 45 miles home, to get my bag and 45 miles back to Neiman's to do an exchange. That has been my most carried bag ever since!!!!! To date, all of my pieces are made in France. I hope I am able to continue this way!!!! It just gives me a special feeling...

It is not uncommon for small leather goods like wallets to be made in Spain. The factory in Spain is good with the small detailing needed for wallets.

I disagree with member about being ok to purchase LV products that are made in other countries. I personally prefer my LV stuff made in France, don't care even if the manufacturing facility in Spain is an authentic LV facility. I think all LV should be made in France and it should be kept that way for the integrity of brand. Thats what makes LV special and worth collecting. Now you have wallets made in Spain and Speedy made in USA, what happens when they start having authentic LV goods made in China, India, Vietnam...etc., would you guys still consider that ok?

When LVMH became such a big group of companies, it acquired companies that also produce leathergoods. The workshop in Spain, according to what I've been told by people who have interest in LVMH, is also the workshop that makes Loewe leather goods because LVMH acquired Loewe. Loewe has a fantastic reputation and the items that they make are very high quality. The USA factory was made, at first, to function as a repair facility because Vuitton was having to outsource some of its repairs to other authorized companies, like Gerardo's (now defunct) in Manhattan. Outsourcing caused a lot of problems, and quality was not always consistent across repairs. Vuitton built the workshop in San Dimas, CA to take care of these quality problems and to streamline repair time and the company's costs. Since The French Company had been making suitcases, handbags, etc for years, Vuitton decided to increase production in San Dimas and move away from using the French Company under license (I have never owner FC pieces, but the design and quality is not appealing to me) and produce its own line in the USA, because Vuitton already had repair facilities in San Dimas. As someone who has been around a long time and has purchased vuitton items from stores such as I. Magnin, Saks, Neiman Marcus, or other American Department stores, I can say that the quality is much more consistent across the board. Designs are now much more international and consistent across countries, and the overall presence of the line is more consistent--compare an old Stratos to an FC zippered suitcase and it's very clear. From my experience, the items from each country (France, Spain, USA) are equivalent in quality and the perception of one factory being better than another is psychological. Of course, it's perfectly fine if anyone disagrees with me.
