I just bought an Alma vernis from ebay with the date code on a piece of leather. Does anyone know if the date codes were done that way? The date code is MI2058.

Hi guys, so I just bought a Mono Speedy 25 from Elux for my cousin for her bday, and im not happy.. please help, it looks great and im sure its auth since its Elux.. but...

1. the date code is on the LEFT tab
2. the date code is: FL2068, yes this is the 26th week of 2008 (right?), buttt its May, 2009.. why such an old bag?

Am I just paranoid? TIA

With the clasp (front pocket) facing you. It will be in the first layer (compartment) on the right seam. Use a flashlight if you can't see it.

1. I've seen date codes on left and right tabs, so it's ok.
2. I wouldn't consider that an old bag... but as you asked, I think it's just a little paranoid feeling that's kicking in.

I was just shocked as I got the bag in '09 and it was an '08 bag.. guess there was a lag in sales last year?

^^^^ Yes, FL2068 is legit. Buying a new bag with a date code from the previous year or from previous years is pretty normal.
