I just got a new computer at work, a macbook pro. Previously I was on a desktop mac. I dislike the mac mice greatly so I always use a regular pc one. The one have been using is a microsoft wireless mobile mouse 4000.

I plugged it into my macbook just a little bit ago and now the scrolling with the wheel is backwards. When i want to scroll down i now have to scroll what used to be 'up' and vice versa.

not a huge issue but might get a little confusing and frustrating going from here and home and having mice that scroll the complete opposite.

just curious if anyone knows why the scrolling is backwards on the macbook?

Weird? I'm not sure but maybe unplug the USB part or turn off your mouse completely and turn it back on? I use a Microsoft wireless mouse with my MacBook for years and hadn't had any problems. And I've had about 3 different brands of mouses

It's probably not your mouse, but the new Mac if it has Lion (10.7). If it does, go to System Preferences then Mouse (under Hardware). Uncheck the first checkbox, Move content in the direction of finger movement when scrolling or navigating.
It's a new feature in Lion, so that scrolling is more like on the iPad.
