Now that the iPhone 5 has been announced I still can't decide between the two. I currently have the mytouch 4g and an iPad 2. I like and am use to the android system, but I like the idea of being able to synch my phone with my iPad. So if you were deciding between the two, which would you pick and why?

I would get the Samsung. I honestly don't see the appeal of iphones. Their technology is not up to par and everyone I know gets their screen shattered by dropping it just once. I can't tell you how many times I've dropped my android with no case and it looks fine. I really don't understand the appeal at all!

im also trying to decide between the s3 and the iphone 5. i think the s3 is thinner than the iphone but my friend said that the apps drain the battery really fast. i was leaning towards the s3 because u can take panorama pictures which is pretty cool but how often would i do that? on the other hand i want the iphone 5 because it is easier to find a case for it for cheap. also the iphone has face time. im not sure which phone has a better battery life. i wonder if verizon has the phone on their website yet because u could compare the two phones side by side and see which is better. i would wait to see which phone to get so u can read reviews for the iphone 5 and for the s3.

ita. iphones are generally behind the times, technology wise. they are just now getting 4g lte, which droids have had for 18 months.

one plus of the iphone is that they retain their value well so if you get tired of phones, you may be better with the iphone.

they both probably have not that great battery life lol but what smartphone has good battery life??

Yeah battery life is disappointing but at least for android phones, you can get an extended battery. As for resale, I am always able to sell my android phones for the price I bought it for (upgrade price).

iphone, I really don't get the appeal of Samsung or any android phone
I tried my friend S3 and it is way too big for me and I don't really like the screen
i use a 4s from December and it's my 1st iphone and I don't regret it at all, oh and I dropped it do many times and it looks fine, I'm such a slob

DH upgraded to the S3 and loved some of the features (LTE, widgets, customization), but ultimately returned it and will be upgrading to the iPhone5. I've tried Andriod phones and never liked any of them. I love my iPhone too much.

Hmm, I like gadgets. Love my iPad. Have the iPhone guess it's 4S with Siri. Don't use Siri that often. Like the phone. Like a lot of the features but does it knock my socks off, not really. It's user friendly so I do like that. Haven't decided if I'll upgrade or not. If I'm able to get a free upgrade, that would sway me. If I have to pay, I'd have to say, nay.

iPhone 5! DH and DS have an android and both hate it and wish they would have gotten an iphone. They have both tried my iphone 4 and like it so much better. I can't wait til I can upgrade, but by then they'll have yet another new iphone out! I love mine and have never had any problems at all with it. I will never own another phone.

I never got on the Iphone bandwagon. Just not my thing. The 5 came out this morning at 1 and sold out. Mu son and his wife both switched to android from Iphone couple years ago.
I have had android for long as they have been out and love them, no battery problem here.

What do you need to sync with your iPad? Google offers across the board syncing as well.

I really think the GS3 is a good phone for the average user. I suggest trying them both them choosing the one you prefer most.

I guess some people prefer one or the other.

I'm one of those that really don't get the iphone hype, to be honest. I like using android, and while I did wait to see the launch of the iphone 5, I am still going to upgrade to the galaxy S3.

i compared the two devices on the vw site to compare the two phones. when i compared the specs the s3 seems better but my friend has the s3 and she said that with the apps running in the background it drains the battery faster. it would be such a hassle to have to turn on/off apps every time. idk if the iphone 5 would have this problem though, it mite. but she had the iphone 4 and didnt have this problem. the standby time and usage time for the s3 is almost doubled that of the iphone 5. iphone 5 is global ready but the s3 isnt. as of right now im leaning a bit more towards getting the s3 than the iphone5 but that might change when i see the phones in person.
