Can you get magazine subscriptions on the Kindle or the Sony version??

I'd love a Kindle but unfortunately they're not available in Canada. :( Sony recently released a new e-book reader. I'm hoping to get one in the near future.

i LOVE the kindle but i am disabled and really loved the text to speech. every since the bleep holes at the authors guild put up the stink about text to speech, and half the books i want are no longer readable to me.

i also have audible and like audible i LOVE the ipod touch app because i can read books even when i am out and didnt think to bring the kindle.

i put audible books on my kindle also. it still sucks about the text to speech thing though. people dont realize that some book readers for audio books are just horrible and i love having the choice of person or machine for everybook. it sucks that that is gone now because so many book are out of my reach i.e. bad or no audio book and no text to speech.

I wasn't aware that the Text too speech books are now limited. :( I thought it was a useful feature to have and I'm sorry to hear this.

I wish the text to speech was better. The cadence is so weird and robotic and sometimes they miss punctuation / abbreviations.

Hi there, does anyone know when the Kindle or any other brand ereaders will come out with a colored screen so that I can view my magazine subscriptions from them?

I just purchased the Kindle 2 with World wide wireless...and it's on sale for $259! Anyone know how I would transfer the books that are still on my K1 to me K2? Also I want to give the K1 to my mom. Would I just move everything on there back to the Amazon server to clear it? Do I just deactivate it from my account and activate it under my mom's account? I can't wait to bring this on vacation with me in a few weeks. :)

Kindle will probably come out with a color version in the next year or so. Apple will probably come out with their own AMAZING version soon, too. I have the Kindle DX and love the size but hate some things about it... I had a thread on this but no one else seemed to have the same problems I did, so take that with a grain of salt.

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on the new Nook by Barnes and Nobles? The feature I'm most envious of is the Lend feature which allows you to borrow or loan a book out for 2 weeks.

Ok so question - I've asked for a few samples of some books... but they haven't made it to my home screen yet. Does it take longer for samples to download? Help! Thanks!

My samples download almost immediately - usually takes no more than 15 seconds. Are you requesting them directly via Kindle or are you requesting them from your computer?

Make sure your wireless is turned on so that your Kindle can update.

Oh my! There is a Kate Spade cover for the Nook but not the Kindle!

I just told my dh that I wanted the Kindle for Christmas, I might have to tell him to switch that to the Nook!
