I've come to my fellow TpF members to help me with my tote craziness!!!

I thought forever that Gigi was my *HG*, and although I DO love her...I'm thinking the 08' Garcia leather legacy tote may suite me better in gray or black. I've also considered the legacy slim tote in black or a whiskey leather!!!

Have any of you gal's sold or returned Gigi and regretted it terribly? Also, I don't have issues with Gigi being too heavy, but maybe just a bit too deep!!!
I also want whatever bag I decide on to stand up on it's own.

I just need some help on this one...I'm afraid since I JUST let go of Leigh that saying good-bye to Gigi maybe too much for me to take!!!

I WELCOME any insite from anyone who owns any of the bags I've mentioned. I have a pic below of the legacy slim tote I'd be looking for. I'll try and find one of the 08' tote I'd be considering as well!!

I sold Gigi, and didn't regret it personally! But I'm definitely in the minority that I'm not a huge fan of the Legacy leather to begin with. Like you, she was a bit too deep for me, and also heavy, and I just didn't have enough stuff to fill her up with! I'm afraid that you will regret it if you sell it though, because I know how much you were lusting after her forever! I wouldn't definitely give it a lot of thought before making your decision! You're not ! I have the 08' Legacy tote and absolutely love it! The only drawback is the zipper detaches all the way if you zip it open too far (like a jacket).

I also sold my Gigi. It was too heavy for me to carry on a regular basis and I don't switch my bags that often. I don't regret it at all either.

I've actually been considering the same bag you have above. I think it's the perfect size! Not fond of the 08' legacy tote.

I had 3 gigis and I sold 2, I have only my teal gigi left. I have 3 garcia 08 legacy bags, amathyst pilot bag, grey, parchment and love them all, they are lightweight and comfortable, roomy, and have a fantastic drop length, the only downside is the zipper is a pull apart, so a bit annoying doing it up all the time. If you see my newest reveal, I just got the 09 legacy and I love it. But it is very large too, but lighter leather like the garcia. But if the gigi is too large for you then I think this will be too.

In my opinion, the 08 legacy is almost perfect so would be a good choice and I use mine more than I ever did my gigis, so far I have had no problems with them. Hope this helps.

I'd have to see IRL how the breakaway zipper works in the 08' legacy tote. I know it dosen't bother me in my black lurex signature gallery tote, but that's because I leave it open!!

Patchworkcat...would you mind taking pic's sometime so I can see how the zipper "falls" into the bag when not zipped?? Just whenever you have a minute!!

I wish! It's my favorite B&B. Not old antiques in the rooms. They are kinda decorated in southwest style with wicker and bright colors. I do artwork for them. They have heated tile floors too!

I love that it has the hidden slip in pocket in the front! The breakaway zipper is both good and bad for me. Sometimes I don't mean to unzip it all the way but I recently got the Small Madison wallet and with my blindly feeling around for it since it's so PUNY!, the zipper unzips. The only reason this bothers me is I don't like walking around with my bag opened in a mall, and it's nearly impossible to zip it back with one hand.
Other than that I love that it breaks away though! It opens up completely for maximum room and access. I can freely stuff my jacket/hoodie inside or like today, my magazines and papers!
I've also read from others that the garcia leather for the tote kind of "pools" and doesn't stand it's own. When I first received mine I had no idea what they were talking about, it stayed its shape..and didn't seem very soft A week later (now) it's become more soft with wear and while it does slouch a bit (the top if not completely packed) when placed down, everything in the bag stays where it is though.
I also attached a pic of the top/inside/zipper of my bag I had on my comp.

Thanks sooooooo much PWC & Kayyle!!! The pic's and info are very helpfull. Maybe I can just sell a bag or two (not including Gigi) and still pick one up in gray! I don't have a gray bag!! I don't think!?

You can remedy this by pinning a safety pin underneath the zipper so it's not visible on top. Then the bag will only unzip to where that safety pin is. It works like a charm.

I was able to find 2 Gigis (camel? and black) a few months ago. But after a couple of weeks of staring at them, I decided to return them both to the outlet. I found the Gigi just too heavy for me. I think I weighed it on my postal scale and it was almost 4 lbs empty.

^^^^ha ha ha I believe that about the 4.0 lb's!!!

It's not the weight, I guess I'm just sooooooooooo in L-O-V-E with the garcia leather!!!!
