Thank you, that's so nice of you. I am happy to say that the bag was salvageable :) but only after several attempts. My hubby and I decided not to mail them my bag because we felt the bag would've been returned in worse condition after we emailed what seemed like a million times and could not agree.
We bought several microfiber eyeglass cloths and washed the patent with dawn dish soap, thinking it might be some type of film on the patent but that didn't do much difference. Then I proceeded with the apple conditioner and after several and I mean several applications and buffing, buffing, buffing I am happy to report that the patent finish is almost back to normal. Enough if you didn't know it you wouldn't notice anything different about the bag. The lady at Macy's gave me a new metallic tag. The creed patch inside the bag is still speckled but you can't really see it because it's inside.
I will say I learned my lesson with shining monkey. All they did was refund my purchase price of the product but would not examine the metallic tag or even the remaining contents of the can to see if they were defective. They just kept implying something had to be wrong with the patent on the bag in the first place, which was not the case. Thank you again for checking on me and my bag :) I just use her and be happy!
