God bless you for helping the blood/plasma supply, but I'm a HUGE needlephobe and couldn't do it!

I sold majority of my used DVD's, Music CD's, and Videogames to feed my need to have money to spend on a purse. But that's as far as I go... really. I would never sell any piece of super expensive electronic for a purse. I might regret it later.

*guards her plasma flat screen tv* NO! My Plasma is staying with me... you're going to have to kill me first... ... at least, I will never sell it. EVARRR.

As for blood money, err. Well, I've been poked with needles my whole life growing up, so I'm ready for another "poke"! lol.

Well, it's giving blood for a good cause so I think it's okay.

Don't feel embarrassed....this is the second time reading this thread, and I just figured out she was talking about her plasma, and not a tv...DUH... I guess I'm a tv addict, and so I just assumed she meant her tv..

Do you get more money if you have a rare blood type??

well, obviously I should not be allowed anywhere in the medical field, since I thought blood and plasma were all the same....I should have been paying attention in Biology instead if wandering the halls and passing notes. Thank you for the lesson in plasma donation :)

Really???? I thought it was a plasma television too!

I was going to say that I bet staring at the bags would be better entertainment (and better for the eyes) than the TV.

I'd rather read a book.

If it's blood $$$, then hey, I'll line up and bleed for 'em!

Take care,

Yeah, I thought her BF was rather extreme too for calling it 'blood money' and probably screaming, "Why, oh why did you sell that plasma TV for Coach bags, huh? I love that TV set and now I have nothing to look at except for those darned bags of yours."

In Canada, we have the Red Cross and we donate our blood. We get cookies and juice in return. I donated my blood once and they took it out too quickly and I went into a coma-like state from exsanguinating. So, no way am I ever doing that again unless it's my doctor wanting to test my blood for some medical reason.

Take care,

Thanks Kabaker for that information. I didn't know that...you get your RBC back. That's great. If I were down there in the US, I'd consider doing that too--replenishing with saline sounds actually rather cleansing--like a spa thing but you get paid for it instead.

I have very low blood pressure so donating blood is like killing by body. I felt my brain empty out of blood and heat up. I'm not donating blood ever again or it will hurt my health.
