yeah its at a plasma center where I go to school. Most of the people that go there are college students...go figure. But its very clean and more like a doctors office then anything else. And I dont mind needles at all so its the perfect solution to me.

its alot like donating blood. They put the needle in your arm. Past the initial prick it does not hurt. They then draw the blood and separate your plasma from it. Then you get your red blood cells put back and at the end you get a big dose of saline to replenish fluids. Its not that bad at all, but strange your first time.

I HATE needles (nevermind the tattoo I already have and the 2 more I plan on getting lol) so selling plasma is a bit extreme for me. I used to be able to "negotiate" with the ex...I kinda miss those days....now I just have to work for it.

Priceless!!!!!

Not sure I'd give up a plasma if I had one though! YOu are hard core girl! LOL!

My sister told me on the phone today that if you give blood a lot you're prone to getting blood clots. I'm not sure if that's true but if big sister said it, I listen.

Oooh I'd do that if I could!

Then again, I know I'm not allowed to donate blood (lived in England for a few years when I was little) so I doubt they'd let me donate plasma. Bummer.

When I was in High School I would donate plasma for things I shouldn't have been buying at that age! I would do it for Coach now, except the only plasma center is in Downtown Cleveland in a not so good area (and I use to go there in HS!). When you go all the homeless and drug addicts are lined up to donate. Makes you hope you never need plasma!

Well they do strict screenings, same as when you donate blood at a blood bank. Plus, I think they use the plasma for all kinds of pharmaceuticals. According to the wiki on plasma: "It is used to treat coagulopathies from warfarin overdose, liver disease, or dilutional coagulopathy"

So not only are you making money, but you are helping people.

I know, and I liked that aspect of it. Plus I know the asthma is screened, so I know it's good. I was just kidding, but its kinds like going to a public pool. You know there is enough chemicals to kill whatever germs are there, but seeing some of the people there makes me not want to swim!

I wouldn't, use "emergency" money or rent money for that. As much as I love bags, Coach is not an emergency, and I'd hate to get caught with the proverbial pants down if an actual emergency arose or get evicted.

I think if you're going to sell plasma, do what you gotta do to supplement your income. A lot of people in these economic times are selling plasma or blood to "supplement" their income. As long as you're being responsible about it, it's all good. I just don't think I could do it.

i just save money and wait till pce before buying anything. actually coach has improved my ability to be more savvy with how i spend. before i would buy clothes and more inexpensive bags i would never use/wear. now i hold back so i can buy a coach! weird way to learn how to spend wisely, but it works for me!
