That's a great story - who needs a plasma anyway? I don't have a TV at home but that's another story. We watch everything online.

Hmm... I made my own lunches for an entire month to feed my Coach addiction, but I really have to stop now.

I am pretty sure she is talking about selling her plasma from her blood...

I see no problem in that. I used to sell my plasma twice a week consistently for about a year just for extra money in general. It added up to about an extra $250 a month. I would do it again if I lived near a plasma donation center, but I don't. Then again I'm not afraid of needles one bit. In fact I like watching having my blood drawn etc. etc.

Besides, it's faaar better than running up credit cards.

OMG I am so embarrassed. I just thought her DBF was a bit extreme in calling it blood money, like she worked hard for her plasma tv or something.

But wow, a unique story indeed. When I was in uni, a couple of friends put themselves into scientific research study groups as guinea pigs and got paid for it.

Well, it's giving blood for a good cause so I think it's okay.

Hmmmm, selling plasma......Hey how can my hubby disagree with that. It's my blood, if I want to sell it then I should be able to get what I want right? Haha, that's good.

$250 a month sounds good! You gals are making me want to sell my plasma. lol I'm just afraid they won't use a clean needle or something scary like that.
I got a little inheritance from my folks passing on and I shouldn't be spending some on Coach because they always went without luxuries their whole lives so I feel guilty about that. I do go without lots of things that other women usually get like nails, haircuts (I cut my own hair), gym memberships, starbucks so I try to justify my spending that way.

ITA! I do cut back on other things but it's not because of Coach but I think I don't need regular manicures, facials, gym memberships (I like to run outside or use an exercise DVD), and daily cafe coffees too.

I think Asian cities have a big "eating out" culture, where it is comparatively cheaper than the US, Australia, and Europe, but I still prefer cooking and making my own espresso coffees You still save money and it's healthier.........

And I get more leeway for COACH.

Me too. I love negotiating to my husband. Like giving him massages. It works.

That's my story as well...I do my own nails and we don't eat out much as I love to cook, and we don't take big vacations so I channel money toward my bags in that way. It's interesting how people don't "see" that you can save money that way yet when they "see" the bags, they assume extreme spending. It's all about priorities, right??

yeah selling isnt a big deal, I mean you have it already and its going to a great cause....its basically free money. And I am a medical technology major so I might as well do something to help with my future profession. But yeah the extra money is great and I can do whatever I want with it! I have a real job so that goes towards my necessities like rent and food and then my plasma selling is on the side so no debt or anything from Coach. Its great!

I may end up giving up some Coach money to buy my husband a black iPod Nano that he's had his eye on. He often spends money on me and it is so seldom that he wants something, so I think I'll give him a treat.

I hate needles more than I love Coach, so I don't think I'll donate any plasma for that purpose. If they could get it out of me without sticking me with a needle, then sure, I'd donate plasma to get Coach money. At least a Coach purse isn't heroin or a bottle of Thunderbird!

by selling plasma, do you mean donating plasma at a center? I've done that on occasion. DH does that twice a week and gets $65/wk. Lots of people do this in my town.
