Default Question for those who own Antique Gold Zoe?

I was wondering if this was a high maintenance bag. It is considered metallic leather right? So have you guys encountered any issues of weird wear patterns on the leather? I know others have been complaining about the other metallic bags.

I have this bag and have not had any problems with it. The color still looks great and I have used it a lot over the last 2 or so months! It's beautiful, slouches just right, and I love it!

Thanks so much for the response. I have never own any "metallic" bags so I always wondered.

I saw one on display where some of the metallic had rubbed off the bottom from where it sat on the display shelf (at least I guess that's what it's from). I also just returned my gunmetal Peyton because I carried it for about 24 hours, and then noticed the metallic dye had rubbed off on my shirt (with the bag sitting mostly stationary and not really rubbing much). IMHO, smooth metallics are more fragile than the textured ones like the Legacy and Legacy Thompson, which also have a light colored leather backing. I own both the platinum Bridgit and the Legacy Thompson Juliette, and I have had no problems. I've used both quite a bit.

I do always spray mine with 2-3 coats of Apple rain and stain, hoping to bond it a bit better, but the truth is YES, metallics are high maintenance in comparison to other bags. Some are better than others. Given that the Peyton is $800, I was very disappointed. I also avoided the bronze Zoe when I saw the display one. ALL metallic finishes will eventually wear off, and they will have to be resprayed.

Thanks baglady39 for the tip. I thought that would be the case also. I love the look of metallic but its so sad to think a bag that cost so much $$$ would rub off within 24hrs of minimal use. I'm glad you returned it. Did it ruin your shirt? I'll have to wait til I see it in person and see if I really fall in love with it. Otherwise I was looking at the Bleecker Tote in Tan or the Bleecker Woven Pocket Hobo in Mahoghany.

I am on my second Antique Gold Zoe (returned the first one due to wear) and I see I will be returning this one too due to the color rubbing off. I will not tolerate such quick wear on an item for which I paid $600!! I am totally bummed because I love the color but I don't have SUCKER written across my forehead.

I have one, I have it protected with Apple Rain/Stain guard, and the metallic is rubbing off in some places. I have a couple ugly smudges on the front of the bag. I don't regret buying it but I'm not sure what to do about the smudges if anything can be done.
