Default OK I am a nut, I admit it....

DH and I, along with our children just returned from our summer vacay in Playa del Carmen. We had a great time plus, I saw so many signature purses. OMGosh, C's were everywhere, the airport, the hotel, while we were shopping on 5th Street, and even out by the pool!

Anyway, here is why I am completely nuts....

I took my favorite summer purse, my white leather Mandy, yikes, I know, I know, white leather to Mexico! The funny thing is that I carried that bag everywhere, except to the beach/pool, obviously, and I only put her down once! DH was complaining about me holding her on my lap on the plane...so, I took the blanket they had given me, I put it on the floor and put my Mandy on top of it. I left the blanket wrapped in plastic so the next person who got on the plane after me could still use a clean blanket. I just made sure I kept her between my ankles so she wouldn't slide off the plastic bag. Honestly, if she wasn't with me or in the hotel room, I made DH hold her or one of my kids!

Yes, I am a nut about my purse...Anybody else have a funny story about what lengths you have gone to just to keep your purse clean?

PS-LA that was a very nice woman who helped you out and Happy Anniversary to you!

Great story. I definitely am like that w/my leather bags, and definitely NOT like that w/my signature bags.
We got back from our FL vacation almost 2 weeks ago, and I took my large sig ergo tote. I don't baby it. I set it on the floor in the plane, I took it to the beach It was used and abused! Still looks good as new though!

I totally understand too! Have to be careful about where you set that baby down! I simply don't know why some people just do not get it that you don't want to set your bag down on the floor. I've had "crazylooks" at the hairdresser, physio therapist, & doctor's office.

I never put my bags on the floor, regardless if its coach or vera bradley. Yuck. There are so many germs around. I always have plastic bags in the car in case it rains. Then I can put my handbag into the plastic bag if it starts raining. I usually use the Target bags because they make the bigger size bags. My Carly's fit in there nicely, nothing hanging out.

Glad you had a nice vacation & you're back safely!
I'm that way, I don't set my bag down on the floor. My brother gets it! I talked to him on the phone and I told him I got a Coach purse and he said, "A lady where I work got a Dooney purse and she sets it on the FLOOR!" I thought it was funny he noticed such a thing.
Anyway, it's hard when I need to go to the rest room and I'm alone. I have to take it in with me but I won't set it anywhere, I hold it on my lap. I have to do a little dance trying to pull my pants up with one hand. Maybe that's too much information. lol

Some friends of mine carry shawls in their bags at all times in case it starts to rain so they will be able to cover it up. Funny part is that they don't even bring jackets for themselves!!!

I learned this trick on the Bal forum - I keep one of those plastic grocery bags in my purse - it doesn't take up any room and comes in handy on the plane or when it rains. Otherwise, my bag goes on a chair, my lap, on top of my feet (had to do that sitting at the counter at CPK the other day - strap wouldn't stay on the chair and no room on my lap for the huge bag I was carrying so on top of my feet it went balanced between my legs and the counter - worked out great!

That's funny. I've actually thought of bringing my dust bag for the plane when I carry my geranium leather Madeline. I always hate stowing it beneath the seat ,and the compartment above is even worse!
