Default Not happy with my Madeline

Hi all

I bought the large Madeline for my work tote about three months ago. I liked it because of the structure. Now the leather around the opening is waving; it's no longer straight. Overall the bag seems to be stretching and losing its shape. I am really surprised because it seemed very sturdy and structured in the store, and due to a shoulder injury I don't even carry that much in my tote.

I know I've had it for a few months, but I am actually considering taking it to the store and asking for assistance with returning it due to problems with the quality. I would even be happy if they gave me store credit, even if it is pro-rated for wear and time of ownership.

Is anybody having the same issue with their Madeline? Have you ever returned a bag that you have had for a while?

Thanks for your input! M

Can you post some pictures of your problems? I have the Madeline and haven't had any problems with it yet. Its about 4 months old. You should definetly go to the store and return it for quality issues. Try calling their customer service first to see if there is anything they can tell you.

That's too bad... I would take it to a boutique and let them know your concerns.. they should take care of you.

This seems to be a problem with some Madelines. I was in the boutique the other day and a woman came in with her Medium Madeline and the handles had stretched, making them way longer than they originally were (I mean like at least 3 to 4 inches longer). It's like a discrepancy with some of the leather, I'm not sure. Definitely take it in to them and see if they can replace it for you. Good luck!

Hi LadyV - Off topic I love your avatar!

Just have to ask because it would be totally random, but that lady didn't happen to be in S.F. did she? It would be great because then I could go to the same store.

Wow, I never thought a Madelaine would do that. So sorry that happened to you. It looked like such a sturdy bag and I have a Hampton version but pining for the Madelaine because it has a larger and smarter looking turnlock closure on the front. That said, I hope you get the issue resolved ASAP and on my side I should be happy with what I have.

Take care,

I'd be interested to see pictures.... I've had my madeline (the large one) since March and haven't had any issues with it.

I also would want to see pictures of your Madeline--I have two the large sig. white/khaki and the chambrey patent one and I haven't had the problem you're having with them. But then again, I haven't used either of them a lot since I baby my bags and switch them around regularly.

Take it back to the boutique, I had problems with my Sig Hobo and they exchanged it on the spot and gave me a brand new bag. They are really good about Customer satisfaction, don't fret.. they will take care of you
