Default My new shoes are tearing up the backs of my feet!

Okay, so recently I went on a shoe buying binge and bought the Judey flats and Katelyn sneakers. You may have seen my post with pics. Anyway, both pairs are really taking a toll on the backs of my feet. They hurt SO bad. So, I've been doubling up on band-aids. However, I'm starting to run out so I'm wondering if anybody else has this problem? How long does it take you to break these shoes in? Should I be wearing band-aids or do I need to tough it out so that my feet can get used to them? It's so awful!!! The Katelyn's aren't as bad as the Judey's...but still, both are very painful. I seem to have this problem with every pair of shoes I buy. Ugh...

I DO!! very annoying!! i envy my friend who can wear any kind of flats and be okay with it. You could get use to the pain and the skin falling off but it will always do that. Sadly you just cant wear those. band aids help but it will still rub that area and well hurt.

If i want some flats i have to buy higher backs OR leather. Leather is softer so it isnt has painful. leather ballet flats from nice west.

Basically you have a less indented heel like me!

they have heel liners at stores you could buy. i saw some at DSW. i think that might work. so you don't need to keep using band aids.

I have heard Coach shoes are not comfy, I wonder if this is what people were saying. I have seen several pairs I just love, but I need comfy shoes.

You poor dear!!! I can so empathize with you!!! I bought the '07 summer patchwork sneakers and wore them for 15 minutes in the mall before I rubbed terrible blisters on both heels!!! I love Coach sneakers, but many of them make hash out of my heels. I never get used to them, despite wearing for short periods in the house. THe only thing I can suggest, which is what helped me to wear SOME of them, is to get a heel liner and/or put the large patch (the thick) bandaids on the back of your heel before wearing them (of course this only works if you can wear socks!). Honestly, I don't find that the store bought heel liners really do that much to protect my heel.

A co-worker of mine has Coach flats and she has the same problem. She has to wear bandaids everytime she wears the shoes...

Thanks all. I'll stop by the drugstore tonight after work and pick up some heel liners. These Judey flats are black and the main shoes I wear all week while working, so I must have something to protect my heels while I wear them. I have no other fancy black shoes to wear to work!

I had this same problem with a pair of Coach black patent flats that I bought last Spring. They dug into the backs of my heels so bad that I sometimes ended up limping home at the end of the day. I wore band-aids on the back of both heels for about 2 weeks and the good news is that they *did* stretch. Now they're my absolute favorite flats -- and the patent still looks brand new even though they're a year old and I wore them every other day last summer. (I also have four pairs of Coach sneakers -- Barretts and Kates mostly -- and they all broke in nicely.)

Stick with it and you'll probably find that your sneakers are your new favorite shoes! Good luck!

I've had my experiences with my heel slipping out with all types of shoes, because sometimes my feet are a tad smaller than the show size (I wear 5/5.5). I suggest staying away from the Dr. Scholls gel liners and get the Kiwi brand if you have a choice! The Dr. Scholls gel liner's adhesiveness didn't hold for very long in my shoes! Hope this helps :)

I went onto Amazon and was looking at them and was going to go with the Kiwi brand, so thanks for that! Good to know I won't be plunking out money on Dr. Scholls when they're crappy. That brand is always the most expensive!!

Try those heel liners that are the little gel type. I can't remember what brand they are, but they're a clear, light blue color. I have to use them on my Jana flats because the heels just come up too high on my ankles. I didn't stick them in with the adhesive, I just plopped them in and moved them around until I found a place that they worked, and they stay there by themselves.

I think airplus was another brand from walmart and it's the gel type, they work pretty good too but I've only tried the heel and forefoot cushions.

Heal lifts also help! I feel like the heal part of the shoe isn't tall enough and I've been able to use the lifts to be comfortable again.

The only thing about the heel liners, girls....will they make my shoes tight? My shoes fit pretty well right now and I think having them any tighther is not going to work. Will they take up a lot of room in my shoes? I'm not worried about my Judeys as much as my Katelyns..

try band-aid blister block, it looks like a small deoderant and you rub it on your heels or where ever your shoes rub.
