Default Mahogany belted hobo is here! Opinions needed please!

So my first thought was "oh". Not a good first thought, right?! First of all, its pebbled (or some sort of textured) leather - not my favorite. Second, its kinda slim (I actually thought the box was empty as it was so flat at the bottom!). Third, it looked rather square. I took the flat paper out, bunched up some rolled up paper and zipped it, and it was less square and slouched more. Ok getting better. I LOVE the color - I would call it tobacco, not mahogany at all, and it has the contrasting dark brown strap and belt - very nice touch. And the size it great - medium is definitely large enough for me. So here it is. Im not sure - I was expecting smooth, Carly-like leather and a little rounder shape, so Im just a bit surprised right now. Oh and there is no pleating on the hobo, I guess that was just the carryall. What do you guys think (dont mind the old baggy t-shirt modeling shot - I've been dressed in heels for three days straight and I need comfy clothes right now!) Also, I do think its worth $328, but not much more than that, and it would be a perfect all-weather bag with the textured leather. OK here it is. One more thing - my 13 year old LOVES it!

You know that I am going to be brutally honest, so here goes. It is nice, but NOTHING like I expected, and it is a little/lot western looking to me, which does not go with you at all in my opinion. The color is nice, but I really am not liking it because it is NOTHING like we thought it would be. Sorry, but I gotta tell it to you straight.

OOOOOH

I can't wait to see more detailed pictures of the carryall...I like this style, but the strap drop seems really long.

Donnalynn..I think it looks cute on you and I like the contrasting shades of brown. It doesn't like you are feeling the bag though and that could be because the last few days haven't been the best for you or your family. Why don't you hold onto it for a few days and see if you like it better. Personally I think it is a very pretty bag.
BTW...I like your bracelet. Is it the Tiffany charm bracelet?

I love the color of the lining--for some reason though, the pebbled texture of the leather just doesnt go with the style of the bag.

I like it! Love the contrasting colors and the drop is GREAT! I get really tired of Armpit bags. I like the slouch and buckle...keep it until you find something you like better...and I'm sure more goods will be here soon!!

Honestly, I love the color of the leather and the lining is also gorgeous, but I'm just not feeling the style of this bag at all. It kind of reminds me of my older Hamptons tote except mine has a braided belt design.

If you don't love it, I would say return it and spend the money on something you would like better!

I like the colors and the contrast a lot, but something about the shape and the texture are not doing it for me...

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the honesty. Its just not what I was expecting at all. Im pretty sure its going back for a credit. If all of these Hamptons bags are textured like that, I guess I wont be getting any of them because I REALLY dont care for the pebbled/textured leather. The contrasting browns is nice, but I dont think its nice enough to make me love the bag. And we get so jaded, oh its only $328, but hey! that alot of money to just feel "eh" about something, right?

And Carley, thanks - yes that a Tiffany charm bracelet. Need to add a few more charms - they come off very easily and I've already lost one!

hmmm....its not what I was expecting either. I don't think I'm feeling it. If you're just "eh" about it. I would return for credit. I agree its a lot of money to spend on a bag that you're just "eh" about.

Is this the one that also comes in purple? It looks like the new one in the Fall catalog.

Yes it is. Maybe it would be nicer in purple, but honestly it looked SO much nicer in the picture!!!

i see the western influence in the bag, and I actually like that. I love the color, but I'm also not a huge fan of pebbled leather, although that wouldn't be a deal breaker for me in this case. Thanks for showing pics of it regardless !!

It's a nice bag, but not one I'd want in my collection. I think it would work for someone who had an equestrian sort of style--something about the belt clasp has that effect, to me.

If you don't love it, back it should go!

I think Mokey summed it up best when she said it just doesn't seem to fit your style! I seem to be the only one with this opinion, but I actually don't like the contrasting colors and the pebbled leather - it is reminding me of a Brighton bag for some reason.

I know what you mean about becoming jaded - I was like that the other day when I just picked up the signature stripe convertible and bought it. I was like "oh its only $300" and then I realized how stupid that was that I have started thinking like that.
