Default Just got the call - they were able to repair my Ali! :)

Hi!

About 3 weeks ago, I dropped off my black leather Ali at the local boutique for repair. I had the same issue as many others - the leather was splitting where the purse attaches to the brass rings of the strap.

Well...I just got a call from the boutique and my Ali was repaired! I thought it wasn't possible (that's why I only took in one of my two Ali's!). It's being shipped back to my home and should arrive in 8-10 days. I'm pretty happy b/c it's a great bag and I figured it was a lost cause.

Has anyone else recently had their Ali repaired? I'm still shocked!

This is great news! What a relief! I know it's not impossible to repair, only if Coach is willing to repair. There is a post somewhere of a Legacy shoulder bag (06) that a tpf'r sent in many months back that was repaired. But there are more that haven't been repaired. Good for you!

I'll definitely post pics of the repair once I receive the bag. If I'm happy with the repair, I'll probably take my whiskey Ali in for repair also. I was so sad when I dropped off the black one (it's my favorite out of the two and had the most splitting) and I'm really happy they repaired it.

That is great news! I was one who sent my '06 shoulder bag in earlier this year. At the time I turned it in, the SA told me it was likely not repairable and I would probably get a credit. I did get a credit letter about 4 weeks later. Maybe they have figured out a way to fix the straps since it seems be an recurring issue. I wish they would have been able to fix mine! You are lucky - enjoy having your bag back!

Out of curiosity did they call you unknown? I have been getting a lot of unknown calls lately and there is no explaination for it.

Coach normally charges $20 for repair to cover the shipping costs. The boutique waived the charge when I took the bag in, so no cost to me for this repair.

Also, the call did not appear as unknown. It was the regular boutique number on my cell.
