I have a Large Carly.. but Question! (exchange)

Hello!

I recently bought a Carly Signature Large in Black/Black with PCE.. but I've been thinking about it.. and I kind of want a leather large now!! If I were to go to the store to get it exchanged would I have to pay the different from the price I paid with the PCE? or will I pay the difference from the 398 - 498? Will they adjust the PCE price to reflect the leather one? I'm confused!! T_T How can I go about this??

If you are exchanging, just take it back without the receipt. Then it will be the difference between the full price ($398) and the full price leather. I don't condone this for anything except an exchange when you used the PCE.

i think they will make you pay the difference from the 498-25% so roughly (w/o tax) 373.50 - 298.50= about $75

that's what they've done for me in the past when i've exchanged a pce item during non-pce times!

My SA told me that they will only exchange the EXACT same bag for a different colour if PCE was used. They would refund you the PCE price and charge you the regular price of the leather one. Apparently this was never a problem in the past but they are now cracking down and doing this.

TBH, I dont think that they will allow you to do any type of upgrade on a bag if you want one thats different... If its the same price, I'm assuming that they could do an even exchange.. usually when you purchase something w/the PCE, you can't exchange it for a totally different item... IDK... you should check the PCE forum.

Just be honest with the transaction. They will refund your pce amount and then charge you full price for the leather carly. If they do what my boutique did, they wont let you use your pce again.

if you paid $298 and took it back for a $398 credit, wouldn't you pay only $100 difference? Perhaps I'm not reading this correctly.

This is what I was told when I triend to exchange the slim carly for the medium black so I just returned it.

when I ordered the Soho laced hobo on Saturday with PCE, before ordering, I asked my SA..what if I don't like this bag when it comes in, will I lose my PCE. She said just bring it back WITHOUT the receipt and they will give me a credit for full-price and then use that towards the bag I want instead. I told her I felt funny returning w/o receipt and she said they're telling all their customers to do that......so..once again, it seems like every SA and every store is different in what they will or won't allow.

But i'm wondering.. when you do order another bag for the exchange.. they take your name/personal information.. can't they just look up your past transactions and see that you purchased the previous bag with PCE and that you're trying to get something more for something less? ><

I'm not sure...if they can look up every purchase in the system, then why do they ask for a receipt? I don't know.

I guess I'll find out if my hobo comes and I don't like her.

I asked this question at a store I don't use very often because I didn't want to have to drive back to the one I bought my PCE items from, and I thought I might want to do this since I wasn't sure I would keep my camel Lily. I was told they will give you the PCE price for the bag you choose for exchange (it does NOT have to be the same bag in a different color), as long as the manager approves it. She didn't indicate any potential problem with that, and she even told me this could be done past the actual PCE event. But yes, it will probably depend on the store and SA in question...just shop around till you find someone that will do it for you!

My store allowed me to return one of the bags I purchased with PCE and get a smaller (less expensive) version of the same bag with the discount. They refunded the difference. The SA just had to get manager's approval.
