I am trying to have some sort of system where I can find old receipts in case of returns or problems with my bags. I have so many receipts now, some of which have exchanges on them so they are stapled together, etc. It's a mess.

I usually have more than one bag on a receipt too so I don't think I can stuff it into the bag, like I would like to. I am concerned that if I make copies of them, they won't accept the copy receipt instead of the original in case I need to return something.

What is everyone else doing to keep these papers straight? I am just at a loss...

I don't have a really good system, but I have some of my Coach receipts stuffed in one of those receipt envelopes you get when you buy something. I sometimes keep the tags in the pocket of the bag. I also have a spreadsheet I keep on my computer that shows the purchase date and price of each item.

I figure I won't need the receipts except for returns of new items. Once I have removed the tags and used the purse, the only reason I would need to take it to Coach is if there was a defect, and in that case, I don't think you need a receipt.

I use one of those small fold over organizers that have like 10 -15 slots. I don't know what its called but I divide it into clothes, gifts, bags, etc.

I have folders marked first by color then on the inside, smaller folders in purse styles in that color and that's where I keep my receipts.

For example, I have an Orchid folder. So far,the only folder I have for that one is marked Hailey. I keep folders separate from Other designers.

It's not a perfect system, but it's easy enough. I know, for example, if the strap breaks on my gray patent Madison Marielle, I go to gray folder, then find the inner Marielle folder. I try to keep my receipts in dated order from earliest to last purchase.

I'm curious to see what others on here do to organize.

I have returned/exchanged exactly 3 things in my Coach-life, all three with tags still on within 14 days of purchase. I didn't need a receipt for any of those, the SA's could look them up on my history. Two were gifts that I didn't need/want and the other was my one impulse purchase that became my Lesson in Impulse Buying (DO NOT!)

I sent one bag in for repair and needed no receipt.

Other than maybe reminding myself how much I paid for a bag, I see no reason to keep them. (I do tuck the price tag in the zipper pocket usually, just so I can find the style number easily for future reference.) Which makes storage/organization VERY simple!

My receipts are kept in the envelopes they come in, in my dresser. The price tags are kept in the inside zipper pocket of the bag. I am a stickler for holding onto receipts when it comes to important/special items.

In each plastic pouch I keep all tags, hang tags (as I almost never use them) and the receipt.
I am able to write the name
Of the item in the pouch, makes it easy to find when I'm looking for something.

Then I just keep all of them in a old Vera Bradley makeup case..

<3 Coach!!
I use the coach boxes that I get for larger wristlets and items like that. I use those boxes for everything! One for tags, one for receipts, one for care cards, etc...

I put all of my receipts in a manilla envelope. I've found receipts come in handy if the bag gets damaged. I've had a wallet where the side ripped. I didn't have the receipt so the manager just gave me a credit for a random amount. If I had the receipt she would have given me a full refund. I'm certain I paid more for the wallet than the credit I got. I was just happy she was willing to do anything for the damage.

Now I keep all of my receipts just in case.

I only keep receipts until the item shows on my credit card, and then I toss the receipt. So I just handle the Coach receipts like all others...keep them for that short bit of time.

I keep all tags, care cards, and receipts in the inside zipper pocket of the bag. I use divide and conquer organizers so I never use my inside pockets. That way it is all together.

I've tried several different methods. The one that always seems to stick is taking the tag, care cards and receipt and leaving them inside the inside zipper pocket. This works easy for me because I don't use the inside zipper pocket THAT MUCH.

I have also in the past used one of those Coach envelopes that comes when you order from Coach.com and kept all receipts and tags inside one of those. Just pop it in the top drawer of your accessory storage chest. I know WE ALL HAVE ONE OF THOSE!!! LOL

Accessory Storage Chest= This can be either a cheapy plastic small set of drawers from Wal-Mart or the like that you keep all of your wristlets, wallets, cosmetic cases and mini skinny's organized in. A nice wooden jewelry chest also works and is much prettier. (I have the cheapy plastic on wheels!) LOL

I use one of those plastic coupon holders with the dividers. The receipt, price tag, and care card goes in the little Coach envelope that they put the receipt in. That then goes into a little plastic bag. I use small treat bags that I found at Target- they're flat and clear. I secure the bag closed with a removable sticker and attach a super sticky Post-it to the front with the name of the bag and other significant info like color and item #. Then I file these little packets in the plastic pouch alphabetically by line (Madison, Kristin, etc.) and alphabetically within each section by style. I do this for all bags, swingpacks, and large wallets.

For smaller items like wristlets I just keep one envelope (SLGs) with receipts, price tags, and care cards. I don't catalogue these.

For fobs I am not currently using I also bag these in tiny zip pouches with info on the outside. I keep these in a small coach box that a wristlet came in.

I don't know if this is the best way to do things but it works for me and I know exactly where to find everything. I'll probably have to adjust and move into larger organizers as my collection grows (and it will! LOL!!) It may seem like a lot of work but I LOVE doing stuff like this. Sorry, I am an ORGANIZING FANATIC!!!
