Default heritage stripe tote problem!!!

I remember (I can't remember your name!!) someone on here asking questions about the heritage stripe berry tote, and then someone else said that the colors were blending when and SA used a wipe on it @ the boutique.

Well, I never used an alcohol wipe on my bag, just a baby wipe on the bottom to remove a marker line, and it came out no problem, but I pulled it out to use yesterday on on the front of the bag, the stripe has a smear mark!! Almost like the color never finished drying and it was rubbed up against anything.... I don't know if that makes sense, and I don't even know how they color these bags, but it makes me pretty upset, that it's not perfect! Maybe I'm just being to picky...

Should I take it back to the store and see what they can do?!?

Oh yeah, take it back or it will bug you every time you use it! That's crazy that the colour would smear like that.

Maybe get something else instead because they're all probably made the same way.

Good luck and I hope you find something you like. If you exchange it for a similar bag, I hope the next bag won't do the same thing. If you do keep it, I hope you enjoy it despite this smear stain.

Take care,

Heck yeah take it back! If this has happened once, you know its likely to happen again and then you'll wish you had taken it back sooner. Good luck!

Definitely take it back. These bags are too expensive to let things like that go.

OH man! These coated canvas bags are supposed to be the no-fail, destruction proof bag for me! I haven't used my small satchel or my diaper bag yet, but I will be soon when the baby comes.

Yes definitely take it back and keep us posted on what happens. How disappointing!

I would say take it back. If its bugging you now, its gonna bug you later. Bring in now while its still brand new and they won't give you a problem.

thanks for your replies, we need to go to the mall today, SO doesnt want to live in the snow w/flip flops lol so he needs to go to Fit 2 Run, but Coach is right upstairs, so I'll def. take it in. It's disappointing that this bag is supposed to be damage proof, but maybe I will steer away from the coated canvas, I have a green one already.

Let us know how it turns out, hopefully the SAs will let you exchange it for a different one or offer some kind of compensation.

it rubbed off the stripe part you mean?? The stripe seems like it is applied after the coated canvas so it would make sense that it would rub off. Looks like paint to me so it could cake off??

Yes it was me...

Here is what I posted in my thread about what happened:

The first time I went back because of a green sticky mark on the signature front part. The one I exchanged it for had a small speck on the berry stripe on the front of the tote, so the SA cleaned it with one of those alcohol wipes and that spread the stain and it looked like a wet stain. Bf and I thought it would dry, but as soon as we left Coach and I took it out of the dust bag the stain was still there and it look worst than before
So I marched right back in there and showed the manager the stain. She asked the SA what she used to clean the speck the first time and then asked her to bring warm water and soap. She then began rubbing a wet cloth on the tote. After much elbow grease she told me that it was all she could do and that if I wanted to exchange it I could, but I could not keep on exchanging it
So I asked for it to be exchanged
I mean, if I'm dropping $300+ on a purse it better reflect this amount.

I finally ended up with a beautiful and may I say flawless tote

I have only carried it once and after what happened to yours I'm scared to wear it again I think I will return it

So what happened? Did you return it?

The care card that came with mine says to use "a soapy sponge and clean cloth", nothing else. Now I'll be sure to follow that. I have a tendency to use alcohol or some form of wipes to clean stuff up, but I'll be sure not to use those near the bags!
