In my Accounting class today, my professor was trying to explain discontinued operations (vs. styles) and mentioned Coach.

He asked if Coach ever went on sale and proceeded to tell us that he thinks they do because his wife gets a post card every few months letting her know that discontinued styles are going on sale (I think he was talking about PCE... and doesn't know that those arn't discontinued...) He then said that he hides the cards from his wife because he thinks she has enough purses!!! Poor wife! What if she's a TPFer who keeps wondering where her PCE card has gone!

Then he was talking about a new item Coach could make... first suggested luggage but we told him they make luggage... then hats (they make hats!)... then sunglasses (those too!!).... Finally he said.. ok... COACH STOOLS!! (the kind you sit on)

I guess he's knowledgeable about accounting... but needs some Coach education!!

lol! I recall one tPF lady saying that she suspects her husband may be hiding her PCE cards from her. I don't remember which tPFer said that. Funny story!

Yep, I would be mad at that husband. But really the joke is on him...if she has so many bags, she is getting them for full price because HE hid her PCE card.

Sooo true farmerswife! My SO likes the PCE cards cause he knows that I wont be paying full price... Its funny how many misconceptions there are about the Coach product line - some people think it's simpley leather bags and thats it... little do they know! Introduce your professor to tPF he'll be shocked haha

funny you talk about accounting...i just had my managerial accounting final today...you professor should have looked at their financial statements he could have used coach as a prime example of profits and expenses and overhead and the like...but alas, he is only a man
