Default Coach wallet got soaked!!!! r/o

the outside is black leather and looks fine...but the tan leather inside (is this vachetta?) looks horrible. there's a way noticeable water line. is there anything that can be done about it?

i'm a bag novice, so sorry if this is an obvious question!

What style wallet is it? My natural legacy got wet and had water marks for a few days, then they just kind of almost disappeared, I don't know if it took that long to completly dry out or if that is just the way the legacy leather is but you have to really look hard to see where it was. :)

I'm not sure, LOL! It's about 4 years old...it's a french wallet with a silver buckle, black outside/tan inside. I'm such a newbie!

Nah it's been weeks since it happened, and still ugly. =\

Leave the wallet out and opened so it can completely dry out. If it is vachetta you can't use any type of cleaner on it. If it is just light colored leather you may be able to work on it with leather cleaner and moisturizer. Do you have a Coach boutique nearby? Perhaps you can bring it there and ask their advice. Good Luck!

If you're worried about the water line, take a damp cloth and cover the entire inside of the wallet lightly so it evens up the color.

That would be mu first instinct- to dampen all the inside to even it up and then allow it to dry open.
