Default Banned-mates - A support group, really.
Hey guys - after my quick stop at the outlets tonight, I'm officially BANNED. I have a bag on it's way to me via Fed Ex that should get here tomorrow and that's it for me.

I need to get this addiction under control.

Who's with me? I figure those of us who have to be on ban can be a support system for each other.

I feel like the excitement of this board only makes my desire to go get more bags even worse. BUT, if I can post here without buying and team up with my other BANNED-mates - then maybe that will help. We can still oogle other people's bags but support each other on our bans!

Who's in?

I need to join. My husband got upset when I mentioned selling some bags to pay for a new bag. I know lots of tpfers do that, but I've never sold a bag. For some reason, it's like a threshold, and once I've crossed the sell-to-buy line, there's no going back.

How long should our collective ban last?

I'm going to try and make it through the end of the year. I went in to see my BF in our room tonight and told him I feel so bad for buying more Coach. And he said "well, just go in to the store once a month.. or once every other month.." which is a good idea. When I go, I'm ALWAYS going to see something I want and it's ALWAYS going to be a "good deal." KWIM?

The outlet opens near me in August. I'm stoked but I think I am going to wait until 2010.

How long do you want to wait? We don't all have to ban ourselves for the same time.

I think I'm going to wait until Christmas. I don't think I'll be able to hold out once Granny's Christmas money gets here! LOL

That doesn't include accessories for me. I really want to be able to jazz up my bags. I think it will really help me not buy new ones if I can get a pretty scarf or fob every now and then.

BTW, I have a bag coming in on Friday, so that'll be the last one for me, too.

I'll ban myself from bags for the rest of the year, too (with the exception of things on my wishlist in my sig--not that I'm ever actually going to find either of my HG bags, but hey, I can dream!).

I just feel like my collection has gotten large enough--I have 40 bags total (that includes non-Coach bags)--that I need to concentrate on enjoying the ones I have rather than just acquiring more. I want to make sure I'm getting enough use out of all the bags I have already. Last fall, I owned three bags, and so it's been a big adjustment for me to go from so few to so many. I switch between bags really frequently--every few days, maximum--so the whole rotation does get used, but I feel like I might get overwhelmed if I had many more than I do now. I enjoyed going on this bag shopping spree over the past 9 months or so, but now I feel like it's time to slow down, and maybe I'll get one or two new bags per year from here on out! (This is something I've been considering for a while, BTW. But thanks for the impetus to actually do it!)

Now, I am not going to ban myself from buying accessories for the rest of the year! I always like having new little goodies to add pops of color inside my bags. :) But I think I've just about reached my threshold for the number of bags I can own while still truly enjoying each and every one.

I think being on this board spurs me on to buy more - I get so excited by the good outlet deals - I end up buying and returning, buying and returning but still end up keeping enough bags and spending a lot of money - on bags - not something I really need -
It will be kinda hard still looking on this board - like an alcoholic going into a bar but not drinking....

May I recommend hanging out in the Money Talks subforum? THere is a large Ban Buddy group there, and being in that thread really helps you keep things in perspective. The articles about budgeting and thinking through purchases can really help. This board can be very enticing, and seeing all these new items can make it worse, especially since Coach comes out with new things so often.

The ladies are great there, so stop on by!

I think I need to ban myself. I got into bags in early 2007. I bought 6 Coach bags that year. I didn't by any at all in 2008 or through May this year. But from the beginning of June, I have bought 6 more bags. But it was hard not to when I got 5 of those for 50% - 60% below retail. - Tokidoki is my biggest bag addiction though.

I want a Zoe pretty bad, but there is no outlet near me. I really do not need another bag and should be saving money instead of spending anyways. So I am on a shopping ban through the summer at least. I am trying to stay away from ebay & bonanzle because that is where I spend my money. I am not awaiting anything in the mail so this is a first for me! I need to keep telling myself I do not need another bag. I do not need another bag!
This forum does it to me every time. I have no interest in a bag and then bam, here come the pics & the stories of the good deals. Then I think "wow, I need one of those too!"
So I am in with you! Please ban me shopping Gods!

OMG you are so right! I need to ban myself! I agree, the excitement of these board don't help lol. I have been pretty good and proud of myself for not using my credit cards, however, in the last 3 weeks alone I got the studded sabrina, the sabrina spectator, 2 op art pouches, an op art julianne and then last night, to my horror, i found myself ordering the python amanda and the gunmetal maggie. Am I insane!? I will be so mad at myself when the bill comes. I can't buy anything else for awhile. Maybe I wont' like the maggie or amanda. yeah right. We need to stick together and be strong! I got out of control there for a few weeks.
