Default So upset I could cry... for the second time today

Okay, we are moving. I knew this but our choices were College Park, MD and Boulder, CO [based on hubby's work]. He promised TX, but that didn't even end up being an option.

I REALLY wanted MD. I have a college buddy in Laurel and it would be easier for me to visit my grandparents in CT as well as do some GREAT shopping in NYC, Lancaster, Philly, ETC...

Now that I am going to CO, where I know no one, I am beyond depressed.

So, my question for the CO coachies, is Boulder close to any outlets for retail therapy? What is the boutique situation?

For everyone else, I get a vacation out of this! I want to go somewhere fabulous (since I will likely not get another one with hubby for 2-3 more years). I am thinking HI, but if I want to shop I refuse to pay the 20% upsale. Maybe back to Puerto Rico (I enjoyed it before)

So, if we are planning to go in NOV, where would you go? [Any other GOOD destinations with Coach shopping????]

Thanks for listening...

Boulder isnt real close to an outlet but you are 56 miles from the castle rock outlet and 32 miles from the loveland outlet thats the one i go to.

and might I add only 1 hour from my house lol and 26 or so miles from a boutique!! boutique in Denver!

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that you aren't moving where you want to be!

I lived in Colorado Springs for a few years and I have to say that I think you're going to LOVE Colorado. It's such a beautiful state and there are countless benefits to living there.

Maybe you could get a group of Coach ladies to connect with once you move? Maybe have a celebratory lunch and shopping day or something along those lines to help you get settled and start some new friendships?

As far as vacations, I think PR sounds wonderful. I love Hawaii, but it is very expensive. If you're looking for great Coach shopping and fantastic weather in November, I vote for my state. Texas is awesome that time of year--your dolllar goes far and there are SO many things to do here. Also, we have one of the most fantastic Coach outlets that often gets boutique bags (I"m talking TABLES of them, not just one-offs) and one of the largest outlet malls in the U.S.

Come on down! I'll take you out for some great Tex-Mex, blues music and margaritas that you can't get anywhere else!

I am from Denver, and think Boulder would be a nice place to live. I know you will make the best of it and you might end up loving Colorado.

Well, I'm sorry your dream destinations didn't come through. If you'd come to MD, we would have met, I'm in that area.

coachfreak, you are such a savvy shopper, you will find the bargains no matter when you end up. I've only visited CO, and it's a beautiful state, so I hope you enjoy it when you get settled. Good Luck...

That sucks that you can't move to where you wanted to!

I am moving to where I do not know anyone also, I will be completely on my own as I have no partner. I know how it feels to be upset about moving far away from close family, it's probably no consolation but you are not alone

It may feel better once you get used to the area and make some new friends!

Sorry to hear that you are not going to your first choice. I went to school in College Park (twice actually for bachelors and then for some doctoral work). Problem with that part of MD is that it is so congested, crime is up from back when I first went there almost 20 years ago (YIKES!), and it is still SO expensive to live there. And the closest Coach outlet is not very close at all... good luck on your move.
