I doubt they have such a policy?? Just so long as the bag hasn't been used...?

Maybe if you return without a receipt too much. I know stores like Macy*s, American Eagle, and the Limited brand stores do that.

I was kinda wondering the same thing. I was thinking about returning the two Ergos and getting the metallic LILY. I don't know if I should. I returned 2 outlet purchases to get my Ergos. I always have my receipts and the bags are not used.

I don't know if they do but I had returned a bunch of stuff I bought from the outlet and everything was fine.

Then the other night I decided to take something back that was on the original receipt. So I had this big receipt of things I had already returned.. and well.. they were less than nice about the whole thing. The first return was fine.. but this one they checked the bag all over and asked if I had used it. I have a dog and there was a dog hair on it... and I know that's probably bad but hey.... I can't control everything. I did use the bag around the house and decided I didn't really love it. ANYWAY, she lady said "we'll take it THIS time"

I was really taken aback by that.

a few of my returns were gifts and the person didnt include the gift reciept but it was unused so i was able to exchange it for credit fine. im just paranoid that if i go back and try to return something they might not be so nice about it or refuse it. haha thanks i feel a lot better knowing there isn't an actual policy.

There is NO time limit for returning or exchanging unused (NEVER worn) merchandise with tags attached. Returns are not tracked. I guess if someone keeps returning merchandise to the same store the SA's get annoyed although they have no right. I have returned a little over $4000 worth of merchandise in the last 2 months (out of spite LOL)and have not had a problem. So...no there is no limit as long as the merchandise has not been used.

From my understanding, you can have 3 returns with no receipt before it comes up as a red flag in their system. I'm sure there are people who slip through the cracks. My friend is a chronic shopper/returner and she got a letter from the loss department telling her she could no longer make returns without a receipt. They track it for sure. My only return was the Juniper Leigh, but I had my receipt and had no problems at all.

This is an interesting thread. I return things here and there and only twice have SAs been a little bit sarcastic with me. It's worth it, hey if you bought something you're not feeling and it's still new, change it for something you do love. Sometimes it's just too difficult to determine if a bag is big enough until you get it home and see for yourself.

I have heard that people have gotten banned from Coach for returning too much.

So I personally do not return that often for that reason.

I try to not just buy stuff on a whim, so I haven't really had a need to return more than a couple of times, and those have been mostly gifts that I needed to exchange.

The SA's in my Coach store know who the chronic returners are and roll their eyes when they see them come in. My store has no problem issuing a store credit if you don't have the receipt. She said that she'll even have people come return bags with animal hair in them and she gets really disgusted. The BIG problem is dishonest people who will go to a dept. store to buy a bag on sale and bring it back to the full-price store for credit. Or they'll wear it out "just once" and return it. The manager of my boutique said there is no way to "red flag" a person in the system. The store can do what they want but you cannot be banned from Coach.

there was a thread, actually several in the past where tpf members have gotten ban letters from coach. Mostly for reselling, but others have received them for chronic returns. The eBay boards have people who have been banned. You can be banned from ultimately any store.

You have to return an extremely huge amount of product without a receipt to receive what we call "The Letter" now, Coach has every right to do that especially if they cannot prove that the item was legally purchased. Simple as that. It's Loss Prevention.

Now as long as you have a receipt, you can return your stuff as much as you want! We all want you to be satisfied!

So...it has to be pretty serious(like unethical reasons). But I am curious...how can you be banned from walking into a Coach store to purchase an item?

Oh....and always keep receipts.
