Default Discount at Department Stores

I've been eyeing the crimson Zoe for a few days now and I tried it on at Macy's this past weekend. I missed the PCE with it this month and so I am considering opening up a Macy's card to get the 20% off.

I know that most coupons that Macy's has excludes the new Coach lines. Some of the older patchwork stuff, you can use a coupon on.

My question is, if you have Coach credit, will they take it? Is there any other way to get a even slight discount on it?

I'm not sure about your question, but I think the 20% you get when you open up an account works on Coach and also Macy's has Friends & Family coming up in Nov - that's 20% and works on Coach.

The 20% for opening a new credit card does not exclude Coach and as Suzzeee said, if you can hold out until the next Friends & Family, that doesn't exclude Coach either.

For those Coachies in Michigan, Macy's F & F is coming in December!!!! Got word from my fav Coach SA at Macy's in Portage, MI.
And she said that if you open a new account, you can combine the discounts for a total of 40% off...

These ladies are right about the Macy's discounts - the new account discount and F&F are pretty much the only times Coach is not excluded.

Dept stores will not accept Coach credit.

Really? I was wondering about that...sweet! Hubby doesn't have an account at Macy's but he soon will That's way better than live.com, PCE or the class action settlement!

You can get the 11% if you go to an out of state store...just show your license & you get a coupon valid for 5 days. Not all of them do this, but I think the bigger Macy's stores do.

I think Macy's F&F is the end of Nov. or the beginning of Dec. this year.

Besides Friends and Family, Macy's also have the Red Star Event which occurs around the springtime I think (the last one was around mid-late April). This also includes Coach too. But the discounts vary depending on what card you have.

You have to go to the store and find the signs with the red star on it, and place your card against it. Then the card will reveal the discount! It usually goes from 15%, 25%, or 30% off. So that's two events where you can take advantage of getting great discounts on a Coach item.

Thank goodness too, because all the other discounted events Macy's throws always exclude Coach. Such as the One Day Sale that happened today. Boo.

Anyway, I totally can't wait for F&F!! I'm seriously gawking over a capacity wristlet but I'm waiting for November to come around. I'm so excited!

this is something an sa told me in michigan--i'm a student, and all my id's are from GA. so it's an actual coupon? i thought it was a one-time thing where you showed your id and that was that. so it's more like a weekend pass where the days are consecutive? TIA!

I was told that Macy's would not be having Friends and Family this year until early December. Hope that helps...
