I guess I didn't mean it looked cheap as in it would rub off or anything, I just think that the hardware on the actual boutique bags looks better?
Maybe it is just because I don't like the mini c's?

I don't care for the mini's either. It takes away from the richness of the bag. Maybe that's why it looks strange to you.

ITA - the mini c's are like an annoying little sister and her glamorous sister's maritini party. I also dont care for the soho buckle - it looks like someone swiped it off a mans belt. But, to each her own. Occasionally, I will find a bag made for the outlet in the same style as a boutique purse, but maybe in a different color. I have also heard the SA's say that the zippers on a lot of the outlet bags may be one color (silver) and the boutique zippers are sometime the opposite color (brass) on the same bag. This is not a tried and true theory....just an SA comment

Outlet bags are the same as the bags you would buy at the boutique...I hate when people say Coach outlet bags are ugly because most of them did come from the bouique.

Yea, mini sig used to be the "new thing" at the boutiques- remember? I bought a full priced soho buckle hobo or whatever its called w/ mini c's back in the day (5 years ago at BEST) for full price at the boutique. And i love it still

It's true - the boutique used to carry mini C items too. Personally, I love the outlet and always wonder why people seem to look down on them. I love the prices -if it weren't for the outlets, I could never afford Coach! I think the hardware is the same.

But yes, there are outlet-only bags that mimic the full price bags. It's hit and miss - some are really great and some are average.

Mini signature bags are not my favorite, but I do have 2 of them I got at the outlet. I like the regular sized signature best, but I do think a Coach collector need at least one mini signature item.

I'll have to go againts what everyone else is saying and say the made for outlet bags are cheaper quality then the coach store bags. The zippers on the inside i find to be weaker and the design aesthetic looks cheaper(for example the stripe tote with the different fabrics they made for the outlet almost looks like it can be fake no ofense to anyone who has it). I always fel bad for the ladies in my outlet, which is huge, thinking their geng an amazing deal on a coach bag that came there from the store when they were made for the outlet and still cost alot. My store is the size of about 3 normal size coach stores and out of everything i'd say about 10% of the stuff there actually comes from the actual coach store into the outlet.

How do you know which bags in the Coach outlet store are "outlet" bags???? I didn't know bags were made just for the outlet.. I have been to the outlet many times and my last purchase was a brown leather Soho satchel - it was the last one on the shelf and I could hardly wait for the lady to put it back down so I could grab it. I love the size of it. It fits all my stuff. I'm heading back to outlet Monday... can't wait.

BTW, this is my first post.

Outlet only bags have an F at the beginning of the style number. So when you see the tag and it says F11346 or something, that is an outlet exclusive. Oh and welcome to TPF. (I enjoy the outlets too)

I agree that the one thing I don't like about outlet bags is the inside zipper. My mom just got one of these bags. It looks great from the outside, but the interior zipper is annoying. Most all of my bags come from the outlet and have regular zippers with nice pulls inside. I honestly don't know for sure, but I am thinking all my bags are transfers from full price stores. The accessories I have that are outlet exclusives are all really nice. I couldn't name one difference in them to full price store accessories other than the marking showing they came from the outlet.

This is all a matter of opinion....I have a leather Soho that came from the boutique when they were selling them, and I just bought a leather soho that the outlets are now carrying....The leather is the same, hardware the same and Interior zipper the same!! So must all depend on the bag.

I just got a Legacy and a belted Ergo for next to nothing and they are gorgeous. There was a lot of Holiday Patchwork, but I didn't see anything gross or cheap looking...I would share pricing, but my receipt is at home.

They always have cute wristlets too.
