Default BIG Sale at Macys!!!

Today I was at Macys and they had a TON of bags 30%-60%. I got a heritage stripe in crimson for 234 that was originally 498!!! The stuff they had on sale was good too....saw some carlys, various styles of heritage stipe collection and a lot more.

(this is my first post by the way!)

Congrats on your new bag and welcome to tPF. Which Macy's had all the goodies on sale?

i was totally surprised by the sale. generally i thought stores couldn't put items on sale that were that new. i guess the rules have changed with the whole economy situation.

Yes, I'm sensing some major desperation starting to build at many of the stores I usually frequent. I was at Nordstrom last weekend, just looking at bags while walking through, and I was nearly eaten alive by SAs, who wanted to order bags for me that I hadn't even seen, just because I touched one and asked if it came in another color.

Not all the Macys near me even have Coach anymore, which still surprises me a bit.

I was at Macys today and I didn't see anything worth while, so either it was already gone or mine didn't have anything. I was just there on Thurs and it looked like the same items.

I was in Macy's earlier and didn't even bother to walk by. I guess I'll give it a go tomorrow.

I got a Tattersall bangle on clearance for 50% off at Macys a few days ago! ($64)

They had a few purses there too but nothing that I was interested in.
There was even a black Leigh but the price was still $460!

It never hurts to take a glance while walking through Macys.
Sometimes you can get a really good deal.

Well, FairOaks has 2 Macy stores, since they took over the old JCP, but I woudln't call their collection there top of the line. Macy's is at TyCorner 1 & 2, Nordstrom at 1 and Dulles, so there's a variety, but no not all of them are Macy's.
