Brand new seller, lives in SoCal, the heart of the fakes-selling West Coast, has only $200 in Paypal Buyer protection - you people must like to live dangerously.

There are a few things that make me worry - the different sizes of the numbers, the spacing in the prefix, the "Made In The United States" at the bottom of the creed when it should be in the second sentence, and the fact that the plant code is NOT for one of the US plants. Oddly enough I've seen a similar creed in a City Bag and I'm wondering about this one too.

It looks like someone tried to put an outlet stamp above the creed in the City Bag but did a really poor job. I'm going to have to dig mine out and compare it.

I can't say for sure either of them are fake but I'm not at all sure that they're real. I've seen different size letters and odd spacing in other bags but none of them were from US plants. In fact they've been from the plant indicated by the questionable plant code in these 2 bags.
The bag you listed has one slight variance from mine, I don't have the zipper pocket behind the creed like that one in your link did. mine is just an open pocket, as they all are, the one under the flap, the main pocket and the back pocket.

My straps connect with the trigger style instead of the clip style like in the lunch box bag...

And just cause I'm not sure you hear this, I do appreciate all the help you give me, and others on the expert experience you've had in these bags... it probably goes understated to many times but you ARE a blessing to the board! Thank you for your time and all you do!

Default Pls help!

Hi, can somebody just help me take a look at this auction? I found 4 sellers initially but 3 of the auctions have ended as I came across them too late. This is the last one and I'm afraid that I will miss it as well. Very much appreciated

Did a search on thE BAY and found another auction with the same "H6M" code but coming from Costa Rica...

The spacing is off, but the description doesn't have the 'scars' line but does include the location in the upper portion of the creed, and obviously nothin about the US!

Hi, but I think the seller did? It's the 3rd last pic.

Is this bag okay? I won the bid and I want to make sure. I believe that it is, however, it is always nice to have confirmation.
Thank you for your help on this!!

That one looks ok - the small "o" in No has something that actually looks like an underscore underneath it, and I'm very sure that the M code stands for Costa Rica, not the US, especially since I have several bags with that code number and "made in Costa Rica" in the creed that were made in the months before and after your bag. So unless Coach moved production from Costa Rica to the US for one month ("H6M" =August 1996) using the Costa Rican plant code and the older placement of the "Made in the United States" at the very bottom of the creed, there's a chance that the bags with H6M- codes that say Made in the US at the bottom of the creed are fakes - although they may have been made by people who actually worked at the CR plant and had access to the stamping equipment since the letters and numbers seem to be the same, but that's just a wild guess and I may be completely wrong.

I think you'd actually have to compare the bags in person and then find someone who worked at Coach during that time and knew what was happening in the plants, which isn't very likely.

The one that I linked to isn't a Pocket Purse like yours is so there should be a few differences. I'm going to try and find my City Bag to compare to the picture of the 9790 but I doubt that there really are enough close photos to be able to say one way or the other, and my City Bag is a few years newer.

And of course we're working under the assumption that the creeds and codes were always correct but I've seen a few misstamped bags too.

(Thanks - and you're welcome! )

Yeah tis kinda crazy that you'd have the same spacing as we've seen in both but yet the code doesn't seem to match up with the rest of the information the creed or serial is telling us it should. I'll probably keep my eye open for more on thE BAY to see if it's a trend, which would lead again either to concerns there are a lot of fakes or maybe that the more real ones out there might justify mine being authentic. Either way, it's not an easy track!
